part 2 —> part 3
There are several things in life that you can live without. Weed is not one of them.
You’re huffing and borderline growling as you dig through various stash locations in your room. Closet, empty. Under the mattress, nothing but crumbs. In every single pants pocket? Zero. Zilch. Not one lush green nug was found.
What could be chalked up to a literal war cry left your lips as you sat on the floor with your head in your hands, “this is it. This is the end.”
Dina’s head poked up from the side of her bed, “what are you whining about down there?”
Leaning your head back onto the wall, you sent Dina a harsh glare, “you and Jesse smoked the last of it! And I’m flat broke, too!”
She sat up fully in her bed, eyes wide and crazy, “bitch! Don’t pin this on us! You said it was fine.”
“That was last night! This is today! Today I just want to smoke my silly little bowl and enjoy my silly little high.” You groan and knock your head against the wall a few times.
Fishing your phone from your back pocket, you open iMessage. Hopefully your plug isn’t busy right now. Last time you bought from him was in the parking lot of his youngest child’s soccer game. Maybe buying from a 40-something father of three isn’t always the best idea—at least he won’t rip you off?
Hey. You busy?
Tom usually responds right away. His clients doubled as his friends (you being his ex-babysitter) and he always loved to provide for them.
Who is this?
Well, that’s strange. Tom definitely has your number saved. And, Tom definitely knows who you are.
Don’t play, Tom. I want to buy!!!!
You watch the text bubbles pop up and disappear in the bottom corner of the screen a few times, showing that he’s typing out a response and deleting it over and over.
This is his wife. Don’t text this number again. He is married. And he does not sell what you want to “buy.”
You could really cry at this moment. Like, honestly and truly sob. A long huff leaves your lips and you knuckle at your eyes aggressively. Fucking bullshit. Tom’s wife was always kind of a bitch, to be fair. But you didn’t think she’d ever pull a Skylar White on you. What does a girl have to do to get some weed around here?
“Do you know any other dealers? I just got told off by Tom’s wife.” Dina laughed from her bed.
“My name is Skylar White, yo. My husband is Walter White, yo.” You couldn’t help but laugh, “that’s exactly what I was thinking!”
She sits up in her bed, hanging her tanned legs off the side, “here. I have mutual friends with this girl, think her name is Ellie? I heard she sells. Good prices too.”
Dina tosses her phone into your lap from where she sits and allows you to send the contact to yourself.
Hey. Is this Ellie?
———
Ellie takes a couple hours before responding.
It depends on who’s asking?
Your professor drones on about some random Shakespeare play and you can’t bring yourself to pay attention while you read over Ellie’s text.
Dina gave me your number, I heard you sell?
Man. I really hope you’re not a cop.
You chuckle at her text.
Not a cop. Twenty year old girl over here. I love One Direction.
That sounds like something an undercover cop would say.
Ellie made a good point. You scroll through your camera roll trying to find a recent selfie before landing on one you took a couple days ago. You’re clearly high in the picture, so maybe Ellie will take the hint.
Here. Proof. Not a cop :)
Pretty.
She sent her address in a separate text and informs you to meet her there around 7pm when she’s done with her night class. Your professor excuses the class and leaves the remainder of students to pack their things. 5pm. Usually you smoke before going to pick up. Clearly, that’s not an option today. What does one do while they wait if they have no weed?
———
Nothing. One does absolutely nothing if they have no weed.
You knock on Ellie’s front door and wait a few beats before stepping back from the doorway. The lock clicks before the dingy wooden door opens inward,
“Hey!”
Oh, damn. She is fine.
Her auburn hair is short and rests about an inch above her shoulders. It’s pulled slightly up into a bun and several short strands curl lightly along the nape of her neck.
“Hey! Ellie, right?”
She smiles, “that’s me.” The door is pulled open wider and she beckons you to come inside. A botanical tattoo swirls along her forearm and you find yourself staring at her awkwardly before you step into the house.
She tugs off her flannel and slings it over the back of a woven couch, leaving her in a fitted white tank top.
You suck in a breath, “how are you?”
How are you? Really? Who says that to a drug dealer?
She chuckles and slouches into the couch, patting the open spot beside her, “pretty good. How about you?”
“Honestly? I’m suffering.”
She laughs fully this time, “that bad, huh? Your dealer die or something?”
“God, I wish. His wife responded to my text and told me to fuck off, basically. That he doesn’t sell what I buy.” Ellie cringes and shakes her head, her lips pressed into a tight frown,
“she Skylar-Whited you? That’s pretty fucking rough.”
“That’s exactly what I said! Call me Jesse Pinkman, I guess.” Ellie shook her head again and leaned forward to grab a small mahogany box.
Her long fingers opened the lid and scrounged through the container before she happily hummed and held up what she was looking for. A joint was pressed between her fingers and she quickly snatched a lighter off the coffee table.
After she placed the box back on the table, she leaned back into the couch and stretched her arm along the back of it, her fingers barely grazing your shoulder. Ellie turned to face you and held the joint to your lips, “open up.”
Your face flushes as you do what she asked—demanded. Her fingers place the joint onto your awaiting lips and she quickly lights the paper, still holding the joint to your mouth.
What is this girl on? You can’t help but feel as if this is strangely intimate. Tom never held a joint to your lips! On second thought, it’s probably good that he didn’t.
You inhale and she pulls the joint to meet her own mouth as she watches you exhale.
“We can smoke this and then I’ll grind up some for you.” She passes you the joint this time.
“Oh—you don’t have to. I can take the nugs. I don’t want to trouble you.” You pass it back.
She smirks, the joint hanging from the side of her mouth, “no trouble at all. Happy to do it.”
“Is that what you tell all of your clients?”
Another smirk, “only the pretty ones.”
The joint is placed back into your fingertips and you are very glad, this way you can explain the extreme blush creeping up onto your cheeks as just you being overly high. Ellie has somehow moved closer to you, her thigh is pressed up against yours and the arm she has outstretched across the back of the couch skims the back of your shoulders. A chill rakes through your body, leaving goosebumps in its wake.
“Here, take it.” The hand she has resting behind your head snatches her discarded flannel and drops it into your lap.
“Oh—thanks.” She hums in response.
———
Ellis is funny as hell. Each sentence that escapes her plump lips makes less sense than the last,
“would you rather be trapped in a locked room with a gorilla, or with…with a shit ton of cockroaches?”
She’s sitting opposite you on the couch, her back leaning against one armrest. One of her legs is bent and squished against the back of the couch, her other is sprawled off the edge of the couch. Bit of a man-spreader, this one. Your back is pressed to the opposite arm rest and your legs are stretched outward, resting softly in her lap.
Again, weirdly intimate.
“Oh. Fuck, probably the roaches? Just step on ‘em. Yanno?”
She gasps and latches onto your sock-clad feet, “sickening! Me and that gorilla are gonna be friends.”
You squint at her, “you gonna sell him some Mary-Jane?”
“Yup,” she pops the ‘p’ and passes you the remainder of the joint. Your fingers skim over hers and she blushes a bit, nudging your finger with hers.
“Hey—so how much do I owe you?” You immediately regret ruining the moment the second the words pass your lips.
“Well, flattery works with me—“ you cut her off, “oh yeah? I would’ve kissed you earlier, had I known that.”
She flushes, “you can—um. You can still kiss me. If you want.”
And, just like that, your eyes turn into hearts and start beating rapidly. You surge forward and press your lips to hers, smiling into the kiss when she flicks the joint out of her fingertips and grabs your cheeks, pulling you closer.
Her mouth melds to yours and immediately has you panting like a bitch in heat. She moves one of her hands to pinch at your hip, grasping and probing at you until you wind up straddling her lap. You press your chest into hers and squeak when you feel her hand push your hip down, effectively grinding you down onto her. A strangled whine leaves your lips as she pulls away and begins kissing down the column of your throat.
Her mouth is wet and firm while she sucks and nips on any naked skin she can find, moaning when she feels your fingers card through her hair. Your hips continually rut into hers and she quickly sets a different pace, gripping your hips and dragging you forward and back on her lap. Ellie moans when you grab her hair and pull. Her face is removed from your neck at the force of your tug and she pants to catch her breath before opening her eyes to meet yours.
“How’s free sound?” She gives you a crooked smirk and presses an open-mouthed kiss to your throat.
“Sounds like I’m ripping you off, Ellie.”
She groans and throws her head back onto the couch, “I love the way you say my name. And it’s not ripping me off, babe.”
And you’re blushing again. Babe. She called you babe.
She continues, “think of it as a little sampler. Free shared joint, some ground up weed, and some Ellie.”
You grab her cheeks and squish them together, “only if you swear this sampler is offered to me only. Can’t have anyone stealing my deals.”
She brushes your hands off and smirks again, “like I said earlier, pretty girls only.”
“You said ‘girls’ plural.” She laughs.
“I’ve got three clients. A grown man named Joel, one of the sociology professors—don’t tell anyone I said that. Then you. And I’m a lesbian, so…” She trails off at the end of her sentence and looks down at your lips again, hands splayed across your thighs.
You kiss her again. It’s short and chaste and it leaves Ellie chasing your lips for just one more. Two more. Three. How’s five sound?
She presses kisses to your puckered lips over and over, “all,” kiss, “the weed,” kiss, “you can,” kiss, “dream of.”
Ellie finally pulls away to fully look at you, “I mean it. You can have all the weed you want if you keep kissing me like that.”
————
When you finally clamber off of her lap and detach her hands from your hips it’s almost one in the morning. She sighs while she watches you stuff your ‘goody bag’ into your purse, slipping your shoes back on. Her fingers beckon you back to the couch and she taps your right leg until you bend it and rest your foot on top of her thigh. You were planning on walking home with your shoes untied, but Ellie’s nimble fingers quickly double knot each of your shoes; She presses a kiss to each of your knees before letting them straighten back out.
Her hands find your hips again—shocker— while she walks you to the front door. A kiss is pressed to your lips one last time and she gives you a firm squeeze when you lean in to hug her.
“Come back soon. Fuck that guy, I’m your new dealer for life.” You smile and step outside, “okay.”
She definitely tied your shoes too tight and you make a mental note to fix it when you’re out of her eyesight. As you’re walking down the sidewalk that leads you to campus she calls your name,
“Get home safe, yeah? Text me when you’re back!”
You will definitely text her.

When I woke the bed was cold and empty. He hadn't slept here. Maybe hadn't slept all. Tension immediately returned to my well-rested body. I pressed my eyes shut and turned into the pillow to inhale the faint remnants of his scent. But seconds later I practically jumped out of bed, overwhelmed by the hurricane of emotions whirling in my chest. With trembling fingers I cracked the window open and deeply inhaled the crisp November air. It did little to soothe my anxiety. I wished desperately that we could be normal. That I could pick his discarded shirt up off the floor, slip it on and join him in the kitchen to steal a kiss at the stove. But his clothes were gone, not a trace of his presence, of the absolute wonder last night had been. So I dressed in my leggings and woolen sweater instead. Voices were drifting down the hallway when I opened my door and I followed them, my heart sinking. Then it dropped into my stomach like a rock. Steve was not just awake and clad in his sleek Marshal attire, his bags also stood packed by the door. Panic rose in my throat. No. Not yet, not today. “Mornin’, sleepyhead.” Natasha stepped into my vision, giving me a casual wave and a strangely wistful smile. “Stevie over here doesn't seem too happy about it, but I'm hoping you are: They've caught Parker. And everyone's certain he didn't have any lackeys, so you're safe to return home. Yay for civilization.” She made a weak attempt at jazz hands, then lowered them at the expression on my face. My eyes flew to Steve but his were fixed on the kitchen counter, dark shadows beneath them. “Wow,” I managed to press out. “I know you guys have been having a pretty cozy time here. So I thought we could all have a nice farewell breakfast before getting on the road. Rogers and I are gonna get cracking on that while you pack, okay?” I needed a moment before I could croak out a reply. “Yeah. Sounds great. Thanks, Nat.” Steve still wouldn't meet my eye, so I mechanically turned on my heels and stumbled back to my room.
When I slumped into a chair twenty minutes later, I couldn’t help staring at Steve. He looked so different. Almost foreign. His slicked-back hair, clean-shaven jaw, the sharp lines of his leather jacket. I had grown so used to his warm softness that it had overwritten the first impression from a month ago. Seeing him morph back into his professional self overnight was jarring. But it had the exact effect he had apparently aimed for: He seemed nothing like the man I had given my body and soul to just hours ago. “Help yourself,” he mumbled at no one in particular. “Don’t mind if I do!” Natasha shoveled a waffle, scrambled eggs and fruit onto her plate. I took some eggs and toast, just to push them around aimlessly. “So, Julie, what are you looking forward to the most when you get back home? Privacy? Take-out? Your phone?” Her grin would have been infectious on any other day. I managed a weak smile. “Seeing my friends, actually. I’ve missed them more than I had imagined.” “That’s good. We all need people.” Her eyes flicked to Steve but he was busy crushing a waffle into crumbs. “What about you?” I asked. “Huh?” His gaze shot up. “Oh… Nothing in particular.” “Really?” Natasha pressed. “City boy was perfectly content in the middle of nowhere?” “Well, I am looking forward to not being teased by you, Romanoff.” She just laughed. “You’re gonna miss me, you always do.” Breakfast went on like that and somewhere along the way I managed to get down a couple of bites. Steve ate nothing at all.
“Right then, you guys go take off. I’ll do a last check and wait for the cleaner.” “Oh, okay. Thank you.” Natasha winked at me. “It’s just so that I get so snatch all the left-over food. I saw Steve’s famous Bami goreng in the fridge — can’t wait for that.” We glanced over at him loading our luggage into the trunk. “Thanks for everything, Nat,” I said with my first earnest smile of that day. “You’ve been great.” “Bye, Julie. It’s been a pleasure.” She gave me a brief but forceful hug and whispered into my ear. “Don't give up too easily.” I searched her eyes for an explanation when she pulled back. But she just smiled and gently pushed me towards the car. “Stevie? A word?” He sighed, then walked up to her while I got into the car. The sweet expression on her face vanished immediately. She spoke intently, holding onto his arms as if to shake him. His responses were monosyllabic at best and eventually she just exhaled in frustration before embracing him. I tried to burn the image of the cabin into my brain as Steve approached the car. Despite the awful sensation in my stomach I never wanted to forget this place and all the memories inside its walls. I flinched when he ripped the door open. “Have a safe trip, kids!” Natasha called out. “You, too.” Steve raised a hand while folding himself into the driver's seat. She waved us off as we backed down the driveway. The silence in the car coated us like concrete. I glanced over at him but his eyes were firmly on the road. After a few minutes I couldn’t bear it anymore. “Can we talk about last—“ “I don't think that's a good idea,” he cut me off. My features slipped. What on earth had happened to the man I had grown so intimately acquainted with? “Well, I think it is. We can't ignore everything between us just because we had to leave the cabin.” “Julie…” All of a sudden he sounded endlessly exhausted and my heart contracted in pain. I inched my hand closer to his one resting on his thigh. If only we could find our connection again. But before I could reach him he pulled away. I burrowed my teeth in my bottom lip to stop it from quivering. A long moment passed before I dared to speak again. “Can we please stop by my dad's?” “We really don’t have the t—“ “Don't. Don't refuse to do this one thing for me.” Tears were pricking at my eyes and I tried to blink them away while staring at the road stretching before us. “I just really need to see my dad. Please.” I hated my voice for breaking so pathetically but it did do the trick. Steve swallowed audibly, then nodded. “One hour. That's all I can give you.” “Okay.” He punched the address into the GPS without another word from me, my entire file seemingly still stored in his memory. How could a person care so much and yet be so careless with another’s heart?
My dad ripped open the front door before I had fully exited the car. “Julie! Cariño, what are you doing here? What happened?” I couldn’t help the tears forming in my eyes once more. When had I last seen him? Christmas? What had he ever done to deserve me avoiding him just because I never stopped searching for accusation in his face whenever he looked at me? I ran up to him and threw myself into the most familiar arms in the world. “Hi, papi,” I sniffed into his cardigan. He held me tightly, rubbing his hands over my back. “I’ve been so worried, I haven’t heard from you in a month.” “I know, I’m sorry.” Eventually he loosened our embrace to hold me at arm’s length and inspect me in detail. “You look sad, mija. And you’ve changed your hair.” “Yeah. You never liked the blond, I know.” He shrugged. “I just didn’t feel that it was really you.” Then he finally looked at Steve, lips stretching into a surprised smile. “Who’s your friend?” I inhaled deeply. “That’s a long story.” “Steven Rogers.” He walked up to shake my father’s hand. “Pleasure to meet you.” “I’m sure the pleasure’s all mine, son.” My heart ached at their greeting. In a different version of this story I would be beaming up at Steve, snuggled into his side and endlessly happy to introduce him to the other most important man in my life. “Can you wait out here, please?” He frowned. “You're still under my protection.” “Parker is behind bars.” “Still.” There was something behind his firm professionalism. A silent plea in his eyes that made me bite my tongue. “Fine. You can wait in the living room.” “Julie, don’t be rude,” my dad chimed in, confusion etched into his features. “Of course he can—“ “We need to talk, pap. Just the two of us.”
“Wow.” My father leaned back in his chair. “God, I can’t believe this is what you’ve been dealing with the past few weeks.” “Yeah. I’m gonna need a while to process when I get home.” “Cariño, I’m so sorry that I didn’t know—“ “Don’t be silly, papi. You had no way of knowing.” “But you shouldn’t have had to carry that burden all by yourself…” His eyes started welling up as he reached for my hands and my stomach clenched painfully. “I didn’t. Steve was there.” “Right. Of course. Did he take good care of you?” Yes. He was perfect. Until he built an impenetrable fortress around his heart. “Julie?” Steve cleared his throat behind me. “I’m afraid we have to go. They’re expecting us at the station.” He set down the glass of water my father had forced upon him. Rafael Castillo, the most gracious host I knew, had been extremely anxious at the lack of hospitality he had been allowed to show his guest. So he had provided him with refreshments, magazines, the TV remote and the most comfortable chair in the room before finally joining me at the kitchen table. “Two minutes. Please.” His gaze softened infinitesimally. “I’ll wait in the hallway.” My father caught my gaze when Steve had left again. “I can see that he did.” “What?” “Take good care of you.” I smiled ruefully. “That’s another long story.” “Is he part of the reason you’ve changed, mija? You seem different.” My hand found his and squeezed tightly. “Will you come visit me soon? It’s been way too long. And I’d really… I’d really like to talk about everything. About mamá.” His brows shot up in surprise, then melted into the most gentle expression. “Of course, amor. I’d love to.” He reluctantly led me outside, pushing some snacks and a thermos of tea into my arms. Then he shook Steve’s hand again, this time amicably clutching his arm as well. “Get her home safely, son.” “I will, sir. Thank you for the hospitality.” “The least I could do for the man who’s been looking after my daughter.” They exchanged a smile before Steve got in the car. My father enveloped me in a hug. “Estoy muy orgulloso de ti, Julie. Y tu madre también lo está.” I held him even closer. “Gracias, papi.”
The music from the car speakers didn’t gloss over the quiet tension once more filling the car. Neither of us could muster up the energy to engage in small talk. And I still had no idea how to bridge the chasm between us. When we finally pulled up to the station, relief mingled with the ache in my chest. Yet the idea of leaving his side was more unfathomable than ever. Suddenly his fingers touched my arm, sending a spark of electricity straight to my heart. “Julie, you didn’t… You didn’t bring up what happened between us to your dad, right?” I stared at him in disbelief. “Yeah, sure, after everything I’ve been through, that was the first thing that came up. And since things are so easy between us I told him we’d get married, too.” Steve swallowed thickly, drawing back his hand. “I’m sorry, it’s just… It was obviously highly unprofessional and—“ “I won’t tell anyone,” I said, biting back my pain when I saw the misery in his eyes. “You won’t lose your job because of me.” He took a deep breath. “Thank you.”
Detectives Carter and Okamoto greeted us, then led me into their office for a debrief and another stack of paperwork. I anxiously looked back at Steve but he gave me a reassuring nod. “I’ll be right outside.” And miraculously he was really waiting for me when I stepped back into the hall an hour later. He looked even wearier, his face pale and a few strands of hair out of place. “Ready to go?” “Are you taking me home?” “Yeah.” “It’s just a fifteen minute walk.” For the first time that day he let his eyes linger one mine. “I know.”
Once out on the sidewalk, we fell into step with each other, the city buzzing around us. “God, it’s loud here,” he murmured. “We’ll get used to it again.” “Hmm.” Dusk fell while the minutes passed between us. “Will you come to the trial?” “I’ll probably be on another assignment.” “Oh. Right.” When we finally stopped in front of my building, Steve handed me the bag he had been carrying for me, then inspected the façade with curiosity, as if committing it to memory. But by the time he turned to me he had schooled his features back into careful composure. “Well then.” A light drizzle set in and I instinctively pulled him under the awning with me. Suddenly he was so close I couldn’t breathe, images from the previous night flooding my mind. “So, how can I contact you?” “You can’t.” My stomach dropped. “What?” “I’ve told you—“ “I understand, you need some time to work through this. But you can’t just cut me off, not after everything. Not after last night.“ He sighed deeply. “This wasn’t the last time I had to vanish off the grid for weeks or months at a time. I’d just keep you waiting and worrying. It's not fair to condemn anyone to a life like that. So I don’t really stay in touch with people.” “And I’m just… people?” “Julie…” He looked at me for a long time, a sudden storm of emotions flickering across his features. “You know that I can't.” “All I know is that you are self-sacrificing to a fault. I know that you feel like you have to make up for past mistakes but they weren't your mistakes. Your friends, your sister — they didn't die because of you. I'm not saying you should forget them, but you can't be haunted by their ghosts forever. Wouldn't they want you to be happy instead of giving up your life for strangers?” Both our eyes had filled with tears and when I gently cupped his face in my palm, he leaned into it with a soft exhale. “There are so many ways to help people without losing yourself. We can figure this out together. Please, Steve. I—“ “Don't.” I knew he could see them in my pleading gaze. Those three words that had been weighing heavy on my tongue. And I needed him to hear them, even if he didn't want to. “I love you.” He sucked in a shuddering breath and closed his eyes, a deep frown forming on his forehead. Then his fingers closed around my wrist to pull my hand away. My body turned to ice. “You don’t mean that.” “Steve—” “What you and I had was… intense. But it wasn’t—,” he swallowed heavily, gaze glued to the ground, “love.” The word came out strange, half-broken, tinged with a disdain that made my tears spill over. He took a step back and it felt like he was ripping out my insides in the process. This couldn’t be happening. I had known it would be difficult, but this? This was absurd. “You know how it is,” he mumbled, “being cooped up together in close quarters, with you in such a fragile state after the murder—“ “Don’t you dare!” My hurt morphed into rage within a split-second. “Don’t you fucking dare pretend I’m a hysterical, weak damsel in distress who can’t distinguish between genuine connection and some kind of reversed Stockholm syndrome.” “Jul—” “You kissed me!” I exclaimed. “You can try to fool yourself all you like, but whatever you want to call it, you felt something, too. That’s why you came to my room, why you couldn’t hold back any longer. You can’t possibly claim that last night was just physical, that everything we’ve shared these past few weeks has meant nothing to you.” Steve had once more slipped on a mask of neutrality, not betraying even a flicker of emotion. “I’m sorry,” he muttered. “Take care of yourself, Julie. And try to forget all of this. Please.” The world was spinning around me. “No. Don’t leave, not like this.” He turned around, hiked up the collar of his jacket and started walking. And all I could do was stare after his tall figure, a dark silhouette against the lights of Washington Heights.

C3E49 reaction
A very VERY enjoyable episode.  It’s been a while since we’ve had one where there’s so much conversation and RP and it’s a breath of fresh air.
I’m a bit disappointed in Matt for not having the leylines as a projection in the background.  I would have LOVED seeing that get slowly stronger each long rest - or even just only being able to see it once it was ‘full’.   But speaking of leylines, props to Matt for acknowledging the fact that Chetney HAS seen this, two or three times.  I know he didn’t plan for it, his descriptions were very much the ‘this is the most magical thing you will ever see in your life’, but he kept true to the fact that Chet is old as balls.
Good choices all around for the Sendings.  Big fan of Ira being brought back into play, because I feel like he’s definitely going to fuck shit up for the party in one way or another.  He’s powerful, but he’s very much on his own side and I like the dynamic that’s bringing in.
Honestly I am LOVING the dynamic that Laura is playing here with Imogen and her mother.  Imogen knows realistically that her mother is on the wrong side, but there is the emotional desperation to have Mother Know Best and Be Loving and Be Right, so Imogen rationalizes based off of her emotions and craving for connection.  Consistently she has described her mother as needing help the past few episodes, where to the audience it seemed pretty clear that Lilianna was where she wanted to be.  I wouldn’t mind seeing Imogen turn during the battle, not the Dark Imogen like I keep seeing around, but just a daughter desperately wanting to believe in her mother.
I suppose I really should finish EXU Kymal - was this stuff with Opal foreshadowed in it?  I only saw the first half of the first episode and then never got around to actually finishing it.  EXU was not particularly to my tastes (much like how I struggle with some of the one-shots, it was just so CHAOTIC that I couldn’t.  Orym held the only braincell.)
Sam’s faced when FCG flipped the coin for the Changebringer’s alignment!  Laughed so hard I cried and had to go back to actually see the expressions.
I don’t know what I took away from the Ashton and Laudna conversation, except that I’m glad they had it, and I hope they have more.  I don’t think it changed the way I viewed either character, but it has the opening to.
Fearne & Orym!!!!!  Look, I don’t care how small the moments are.  Liam and Ashley have been my desperately wanting scenes of them together, whether Caleb and Yasha, Vax and Pike, or now C3.  I EAT ALL THESE CRUMBS.  BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.
Yeah, we all knew D was Devexian XD
Also a fan of the mini shopping session we got.  I enjoy the shopping sessions as long as they don’t take a whole episode, and they definitely got some good loot.  A 19 con necklace??  DAMN good.  Hope the gold gets shuffled ‘round in the party though.   It’s hard for me to compare how dnd-poor they are compared to the Mighty Nein.  I’m sure critrolestats has the actual gold amount.  I just feel like the Nein was more poor, accurate or not XD
As much as a short combat would have been fun, I’m actually quite pleased that we just got a few storms and a very short encounter ending with a goldfish.  I have a sneaking suspicion that Matt’s random encounter chart was kinder than usual, more designed for poor rolls to delay rather than destroy.
I’m....not a fan of the message bloom.  I actually went and rewatched the moment where Orym got the seed, and it was this quiet serious moment and he was told “you are an Ashari, are you not?  Make it grow.”  and then it’s just a longer one way one time sending?  Pretty big of a let down, tbh.  (though I, much like Orym/Liam, completely forgot about it.)
Keyleth coming in.  How do I feel about this.....  it’s really hard to say!  I think I’m more okay with it because they didn’t ask her for it.  They gave her a status update, but also very easily accepted when she said she was busy - and I don’t see the party changing their minds and trying to push harder, in or out of character.  Keyleth coming to join was very much a Matt decision here, which is why even though I’m a bit iffy about it, I’m more willing to accept.  I’m HOPING that it’s more that she’s fighting Just Off Stage Left the entire time, dealing with The Army That The Bells Hells Would Have Snuck Around Anyway, or something like that.  Have a show of power, have it work for the story, but not actually have it change how the narrative would have gone, if that makes sense.
EDIT: how could i have forgotten to mention the Imogen/Laudna scene???  Shockingly, I’m still not shipping it?  Even with the declarations of I love you, it still feels non-romantic to me.  I’ve seen people say ‘who says I love you to friends?’  um, me.  I have told friends that I am not interested in romantically in the slightest that I love them, and they have said it back to me.  ‘who cuddles with their friends?’ early 20s? me again.  also, fearne and orym cuddle every night.  BUT, I will say that if we get more conversations like this, I can see myself getting more comfortable with the ship.
Very happy that the solstice is going to be likely the next episode (maaaybe one or two more if we have heavy combat/sneaking/etc), because I am so ready for what Matt has in store.   ....though if they do stop it, that’s going to be a hell of a lack of payoff.  I have a strong suspicion (as I think basically everyone watching does) that the Keys are going to work no matter what the Hells do.  On to episode 50!!  (omg are we like halfway through the campaign?  it still feels like it might be a shorter one to me, I can see it only lasting 100 episodes)

I’m glad he’s gone, especially if you don’t vibe with him! Also relieved he’s not creepy! That would just be unbearable. And Buddy does have the charisma that is good for reality Tv and who doesn’t love the family drama aspect of it lol
Omg I fear I would be scared of her too lol But that’s so sweet that you would even consider buying her a book! Let’s hope she actually does graduate!!!
No one has their camera on😭 so all they see is boxes which is frustrating obviously lol But I simply cannot sit still for that so I walk around/do stretches every few minutes lol And yeah also grew up poor so education and being a “hard worker” was always pushed on me so it is very much a motivator lol
Yeah I was very surprised with my therapist at first lol  But yeah do whatever feels best for you!
I'm really sorry that you feel this way about that :( It’s definitely not your fault and I'm sure you do way more than enough! You’re definitely not old but I do see how sometimes that does make it seem a bit hard to understand them. It’s just a way different time that we are living in right now like trust me! The apathetic attitude towards things is very scary and I think it applies to more than just to teens! The world is a shit show and with the access to information/content so easily it can have a great effect on how they view the world. I can see how that attitude in a way can be a coping mechanism just because things are so overwhelming in general. And sometimes you just wont understand and that’s okay. They’ll come to you if they feel included too or they’ll let you know subtly. As long as you create a safe and open environment trust me they will/do appreciate it! And if you can afford it, I think it would be a good idea to take the next summer off!
Okay so I LOVE when you write in Harry’s POV! I just think it’s so cute to read his side of the story due to the majority of fics written from the point of the MC! Those analogies and your creative spin on simple things like hope/candles are what make your writing special! Bc it’s like your signature touch and just because it’s a fic doesn’t discredit your writing and hard work! I personally love them!
I saw that you were writing a scene about Lauren and I honestly hope you include it for the plot! I will eat it up even if I will be left in shambles! And yeah I think i have mentioned that i do journal a bit. But it’s totally okay to not remember everything I say! I don’t expect you to either bc it’s a lot and life is crazy as it is! I LOVE that you put  paramore’s wiki page biographer 😂 Love that this is my legacy lol
I think I saw an AI image of him as a fireman and I was SCREAMING! You definitely took the right approach on how their dynamic would pick up after all those years. They definitely can pick up where they left off but they also have changed a bit so it will be a little bit of picking up. I think that they were/are capable of living without each other but they are MEANT to be together in some from if that makes sense lol Any crumbs of jealousrry i can get I will take! And yeah I was not into 1D like I knew very little about THEM, just knew their hit songs lol
I get your feelings about the lack of feedback this time around! I personally love when you write and create these meaningful storylines! Sometimes certain stories just need that type of development and there's nothing wrong with that. And you are NOT bad at making the story progress! I think it has to do a lot with how fanfic culture has shifted, at least on tumblr. Some people prefer to read one shots and that’s fine. While others prefer to binge an entire series since some don’t want to get attached if it won’t be finished. Though I think that’s why many stories go unfinished due to the lack of feedback during its writing process. I swear it’s not a you problem, it’s just sad how it's changed. I hope that this won’t completely make you not want to write longer stories because there are many people who love it!
Sorry for such a long response again lol Hope you had such a lovely restful weekend! So excited to read the protection extra too! Wishing you the best on your last week of teaching!! Love you!-💜
Please don't apologize, I almost made a third post to say don't feel obligated to respond to everything because I really outdid myself by writing novels for BOTH your asks.
Yes, very glad he's gone. We didn't vibe, but I'm pretty pleasant to be around even when I'm not vibing with someone. I guess that's a trick of the trade in teaching, right?
I need her to graduate so badly lol I will consider it a personal victory.
The no camera is so triggering to me but I totally get it. When I do online PD and seminars I'm always camera off. I hate the way I look on camera lol. There's nothing wrong with a little motivation and hard work. I love the idea of doing stretches and walking around that's so cute 😭 Math classes online I was glued to the screen hovering over a notebook lol
I def don't know if I can afford it, but it might be worth a piece of my sanity 🤣
I never thought of it like that! I think it's because I read a lot of alternating POV books and I don't know I just find it more fun to have the inside scoop of other character's thoughts. Thank you for being so sweet and kind as always. You always make me feel better when I'm not feeling my best about things! 💕
I believe Lauren will get her shining moment once more, I gotta go back and double check my work hahahahaha I think of you every time I hear their music!
I am really into the "who did this to you" trope rn. The enemies to lovers thing in my head so I try and like shove that feeling into writing something that resembles jealousy. Very good point about being meant together 💕😭 hope it works out for them LOL
I don't think I could write a shorter story if I tried (although my draft right now for a one shot is looking a little on the short side hahahahaha) Once more, I appreciate your kindness, I'm also hopeful that's the new culture of it. I don't ever plan on publishing my stuff--not unless someone asked to publish something I've already written lol. So I will continue posting on here until someone tells me where to post next. But otherwise it will be me and my Drive until death do us part.
Glad you're excited I'm excited too! love you!💕
xoxo

Chapter 3: The dog and the D&D
Tumblr media
Jacob had never seemed so excited to tell you something, than he was when he practically sprinted inside the bakery, panting and grinning like a madman. “Y/N, GUESS THE FUCK WHAT??” He yelled with his eyes glinting dangerously. You quickly thrusted a walnut-muffin into his hand, and he took a giant bite. “What the fuck, Jake?” You asked, grinning. Your phone plinged with a messaged from Andy, asking if you had seen Jacob today. You smiled at your phone before answering that, yes, indeed, his lanky, overly excited son was standing in your bakery. You looked back up to Jacob, who was grinning knowingly and wiggled his eyebrows.
“Shut up.” “I didn’t even say anything!” He gasped, before taking another large bite of the muffin. “I can feel what you’re thinking, Jake. And shut up.” “All I’m thinking is that you and my dad should…” “Don’t…” He ignored you. “Get it on. Like, how old people do. Go to some fancy schmanzy restaurant or some shit.” You rolled your eyes. “One more time, one, where you try to convince me to date your dad, and no more muffins.” He gasped. “Nooooooo!” “Yes. I’m hardcore like that.” You grinned at him. “Besides, your dad would be better off with someone his own age.” “Pffht. He needs some spruce in life. And someone who can break his old man back.” “JAKE!” He shrugged. “Am I wrong? Are you going to look at me and tell me that I’m wrong?”  “I’m... Not saying anything, actually. I think I’ll spare myself.” He rolled his eyes and finished his muffin.  “Listen, all I’m saying is that you want to jump his bones, he wants to jump yours... I don’t see what’s holding you back.”  “Jake, one more time...”  “Yeah, yeah, muffins are over. I get it, I’m just trying to get you to see that maybe this isn’t a crazy idea.”  “Jake...” He grinned.  “Anyway, on to what I really wanted to talk about…” His eyes glinted again, and he began jumping up and down. Small crumbs tumbled from his shirt to the counter. “WE’RE GETTING A DOG!” “HOLY SHIT! YEEEES!” You jumped with him. “That’s amazing, Jake!” “I KNOW!” He was grinning wildly. “We’re going to the pound in the weekend. I don’t care how big, small, weird or normal that dog is, I’m naming it Kal-El.” “What if it’s a girl?” You asked, laughing a little and glanced at your phone; Andy had texted you again. Jake shrugged. “Kal-El.” “Okay, we’re going with straight up non-gendered names?” He nodded. “Maybe I’d go for Bowser if I am really in the mood. But then it has to be ugly as shit.” You laughed. “Sure thing.” “Wanna come?” You blinked. “Me?” He nodded. “Yeah, you have the best taste in everything.” “Oh, really?” He nodded vigorously.
“Just look at me. You love me, and that is truly great taste.” He wiggled his brows again. “And my dad...”  “Stop it.”  “I’m being truthful...”  “High and mighty today, aren’t we?” You laughed. “We gotta get ready for D&D, can you start getting it set up?” He nodded. “Uhm, another person is joining the party.” He blushed. “Is that a blush, I see?” You asked, smirking a little, wiping your hands on your apron. “Is my little Jake falling in love?” He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, no, I’m just… She’s pretty cool. She plays cello.” “Oh?” He nodded. “Well, can’t wait to meet her. I’ll just go call your dad, he’s blowing up my phone.” It was his time to smirk, and you narrowed your eyes and pointed at him. “Don’t you dare. Don’t even think it.” He held his hands up, but the smile didn’t go away. “Didn’t say anything. At all.”
When the door to the back closed, you pulled your phone out to several messages from Andy, and quickly called him instead of trying to answer all the messages in one. He picked up quickly. “Y/n.” His voice made you shiver just a little. “Hi, Andy.” “Jake’s there?” He asked, and you heard some rustling in the background. “Yeah. We’re having D&D-night tonight.” “Right. I’m sorry, I completely forgot about it.” “Don’t worry, it’s not like you’re supposed to be here for it.” Another rustle of papers and then a shit followed. “And it would seem like you are more than busy.” “I’m… Fuck… A little overrun, yeah.” The way his said fuck made your body tingle. Stop it, Y/N, you’re better than this. He sighed and you sat down on the only chair in the backroom. “Listen, Y/N, I really apricate you taking care of him, but I…” “Nope. We’ve had this talk before, Andy. I’m good. I like his company; he keeps me young.” “You are young.” “Well, keeps me younger.” He chuckled a little. “I just… I feel bad that I’m not around as much as I want to be. You know?” “Yeah.” There wasn’t more to say to that – there wasn’t any reason to rub it in or try to make him feel less guilty, because the man was stubborn as a mule when it came to it. “I feel like I owe you something.” He said slowly, and you swallowed thickly at the tone of his voice. “Oh, no, Andy. I’m serious, Jake and his friends are weirdos and I love them. Besides, since we started playing here, I’m actually breaking even in the bakery. They eat like pigs.” He laughed. “So I’ve noticed. Growing teenagers, man.” You laughed. “Indeed. Anyway, I should…” “Oh, yeah, sure.” You didn’t hang up and neither did he. “We’re really shitty at hanging up.” You stated. “Maybe I just like talking to you.” Your face felt hot. “Oh.” “If that’s okay.” “Yeah, no, yeah. It’s fine, great, I, uhm… Just don’t know how to respond, really.” You laughed a little.
“Y/N, they’re here!” Jacob yelled from the front and you sighed. You weren’t going to lie, you did really enjoy talking to Andy too. “I gotta run before these assholes wreck my shop.” You hesitated. “You’re welcome to join us, if you have time.” Silence. “I don’t know how to do the dungeons or the dragons.” “It doesn’t matter. We’re just having fun.” You tried your hardest to not laugh at him. He chuckled a little. “Maybe I’ll see if I can get off early today. God knows I need it.” “Sure thing. If not, I’ll be happy to take Jake home.” “Thank you, Y/N.” He hung up shortly after that and you stuffed your phone in your back pocket before removing your apron, and throwing it in a corner of the kitchen.
Jake, Hope, Sam, Derek and someone, you could only assume was Emily, were loudly fighting over dice, while moving tables to make a giant one in the middle of the floor – Emily was standing to the side, a little quiet, while Derek held tightly onto the dice, that Jake was trying to pry out of his hands, while Sam was yelling from the sidelines. “YO!” You yelled and all faces turned to you. Derek and Jake still held onto the dice. “What the hell, guys?” “Derek took my lucky dice!” “Did not, I took my lucky dice!” “Liar!” And the bickering began again. You rolled your eyes. “If any of you want to play today, you better put the dice back on the table and step away slowly.” They all gulped, and the two boys put the dice on the table and took two steps back. “We have a rule, you guys. Newcomers gets first pick.” You smiled at Emily. “Your pick of dice, my lady.”
Luckily, it didn’t take long to get everyone sorted, settled and ready for the campaign – Emily was new, but before long, everyone was sweating wildly, silently praying that they’d survive the campaign. “Okay, Jake, you’re standing at the very edge of the Lessing Sea, and if you don’t take Qualnus down, the Underdark will invade the surface, killing everyone. What’s your choice?” Jake was sweating, looking back and forth from the board to his character sheet. Sam was hiding behind their hands, while Derek was chanting, please don’t be dumb, please don’t be dumb over and over.   “Shit, I don’t know.” He groaned. “What’s my options?” “You can try for the Warhammer of the Diviner and see if it’ll take him, but if you don’t roll at least 12, you’re down. Maybe forever. You can try to heal, but…” Your eyes flickered to the door, where Andy stepped in, a smile on his lips when his eyes found yours. “Hey, guys.” “Dad, I love you, but I need you to be quiet like right now, I need to think.” “Oh, damn.” You stood and left the kids to ponder their life, and hugged Andy tightly. “I didn’t think you’d make it.” “Me neither.” He smiled. He was a little winded, and his hair looked way too good for someone who had been outside in the wind. it was actually unfair. His eyes roamed over your body, and you tried not to let it get to your head. “How’s the campaign going?” You sighed and looked to the kids, who looked like they all were on the brink of a mental breakdown. “Well… Derek’s halfling, Spearhead, is currently paralyzed with poison and at risk of dying from the Vampire Overlord, Qualnus and his minions. Sam’s mage is currently stuck in the current of the Lessing Sea, and his staff is about to break. Emily’s elf, Tealeaf, is suffering on the other side of the bank, and she needs help crossing the wild currents. Jake, is… Well…” You both looked to him, as he began pulling at his hair. “Y/N, this is IMPOSSIBLE. I can’t do this!” You chuckled. “He’s currently trying to survive a one-on-one with Qualnus, but he has to roll high and he’s barely hanging on as we speak.” Andy nodded and followed you to sit next to you, looking over the board. Jake held a finger out to his father. “Don’t speak.” Andy held his hands up. “Jake, you gotta make a decision, man.” Derek groaned. “Or we’ll all die.” “WAIT!!” Jake looked at you with wild eyes. “I have enough xp to get Tealeaf across the water, right?” You checked. “Yes?” “And she’s magic.” You nodded again. “I’m doing it.” Emily blushed. “Okay, go for it. You need…” “14, yeah.” He nodded seriously, and Andy leaned close, his breath on your neck. It raised goosebumps. “So… When is the campaign over?” He asked softly. You glanced at the clock. “Not tonight, but we’re stopping after Jake’s roll. It’s getting late.” He nodded. “Cool.” He seemed like he wanted to say something else, but Jake screamed with glee in the same moment. “15!!” Jake was alit with joy. “I’m getting Tealeaf over!” “Good job, Jake!” You narrated the treacherous voyage across the storming sea, and when Tealeaf and Jake’s dwarf, Bunder, had reunited, you closed it off for the night, the kids cheering loudly. “Good game, guys. We’ll find another day to get through the wonderous fight with Qualnus the Bad!” They all cheered and began packing up, and you nodded to Andy. “Come with me.” He followed you willingly to the back – you glanced back and saw Jake wink at you. “Clean, Jake.” You narrowed your eyes at him before leading Andy to the back.
“What’s up?” You grinned at him and began pulling out the stuff, you had put away for him. “So… I know you, and you barely eat when you work, and you got off late… So…” You put the basket of treats on the table. “I wanted to feed you. Or… Well, yeah. Make sure you actually got something to eat.” He smiled bashfully. “Y/N, you didn’t have to…” “I wanted to. I gotta take care of my boys, right?” He blushed. “Well, in that case.. Your boy thanks you.” He hugged you, albeit a little hesitantly. You hugged him back and allowed yourself to enjoy the way his cologne wrapped around you. It was nice. “Listen, I have to get Jacob home. We’ll see you around?” You nodded and pulled away from his hug – your faces were closer than you had initially thought, and it took your breath away. “Oh.” It sounded more like a squeak than anything else, that came form your throat and you cursed yourself. His hands were warm on your back. He cleared his throat and for a second, you might’ve believed he’d do something wild, like kiss you, but he just smiled and pulled away fully. “Yeah, I’ll… I actually have a thing with Jacob on Friday, I’ll be over then.” “Looking forward to it.” “Me too.” He grabbed the basket and left the back, while you fumbled for your phone and followed him, hugging the kids goodbye and closing up shop. You quickly texted Jacob.
Y/N: Jake you might be a little right.
J: About?
Y/N: You know what. You were right you little asshole.
J:
Tumblr media
Y/N: yeah, yeah, get it out, buddy I still need serious help because theres no way your dad is going to ask me out

"My sister does not hate you." Yelena chuckled as she opened the car door and stepped out. You stayed put for a second, staring up at the Avenger's tower as you chewed your lower lip.
"She definitely does." You mumbled as you stepped out of the car yourself. Yelena held her hand out for you to take, marginally helping your nerves when she gave it a reassuring squeeze. She noticed your silence and tried again.
"Okay maybe she's not your biggest fan right now but she'll warm up to you. I did." The blonde winked. You bit back a smile and rolled your eyes. "The others sure as hell love you." You hummed in response, you couldn't argue with that. You got on with the other heroes like a house on fire. "And I love you." Yelena said earnestly as you stopped outside the main door for your girlfriend to plant a soft, quick, kiss on your lips.
"I love you too." You said with a smile.
"There she is." She grinned back as she stroked your cheek with her index finger. "Now come on, I'm starving."
"You ate that bag of M&Ms in the car." You laughed as Yelena led you through the building. The blonde scoffed.
"They only half fill them, y/n." She complained. "So it was half a bag." It was hard to argue with that logic.
You made your way through to the top floor of the building, all while holding onto the expensive wine bottle you bought. Your hands were sweating so much so you held onto the bottle with both hands, not trusting your grip. The last thing you needed was to smash it on any of Tony's expensive carpets. You were met with a round of laughter when the elevator doors opened, presenting the Avengers all sat around the living area. Their eyes turned to you and Yelena with wide smiles and they all shouted hellos across the room. Wanda gave you a warm hug as Yelena high fived Bucky and you felt your nerves soften.
"She's just finishing up." Wanda said knowingly. You wondered for a brief second if she had taken a peek into your mind but when you looked at the redhead she was smiling reassuringly at you and you realized it must have been obvious that you were anxious to see her again. Unlike Yelena, everyone else could tell you were Natasha's least favourite person. "For what it's worth she seems to be in a pretty good mood tonight." Wanda assured.
"Whose in a pretty good mood tonight?" Came the voice you had been dreading to hear. Natasha strolled into the living room with a content smile on her face but halted in her tracks once she saw you. You locked eyes for longer than you were comfortable with but you were determined not to look away. Sometimes you thought that if you asserted yourself more then maybe Natasha would at least respect you. Today wasn't the day for that because you looked away quicker than you would have hoped to. In your defence, it was really hard to maintain eye contact with the Black Widow.
"What's she doing here?" Natasha spat. Oh. You winced as you rubbed the back of your neck, clearly the Russian wasn't aware that you were attending the dinner too.
"I told you she was coming." Yelena said as she strolled towards her sister and gave her a bear hug. Natasha continued to glare at you from over her sister's shoulder.
"I thought you were meant to be on a mission."
"Luckily it was over by lunch." You smiled weakly. "Meant there was still brownie left in the cafeteria." You laughed awkwardly but Natasha didn't respond.
"If you want, I could give you the recipe for my brownies." Wanda said in an attempt to ease the overwhelming tension in the room. The Sokovian was always the best at that and you were sure it was entirely down to her calm demeanour.
"Really?" You asked hopefully as you all made your way to the dinner table. You avoided Natasha's eyes the whole time but consequently ended up taking a seat opposite her. You froze when you sat down, already under her heated gaze once again. You gulped thickly and turned to Yelena while you tried to ignore the pair of emerald eyes burning holes into the side of your head.
The rest of the dinner wasn't altogether awkward but it wasn't the most comfortable you'd ever been. Natasha didn't acknowledge you, though it was rare that she did, and you both engaged in separate conversations with the rest of the team. You had never known if there was a particular reason the redhead didn't like you. You guessed it was down to her being protective of her little sister, something you could understand given all they had been through. But you would never hurt your girlfriend, in fact you would do anything to avoid that. So it bothered you that there was nothing you could do to sway Natasha's opinion of you, because you had literally tried everything. You had been dating her sister for six months. Surely if she was going to accept you it would have happened already.
When dinner was finished Natasha excused herself as Yelena picked up some plates and took them to the kitchen. You were hooked on a story Sam was telling when they left, both your elbows on the table as your face rested in your hands, eagerly waiting for Sam to reveal how he was able to escape a whole squadron of planes with a malfunctioning suit. As a S.H.I.E.L.D agent, you didn’t get to experience half the things the Avengers did. Sure, you had had some crazy missions and your fair share of close calls, but their stories always won.
Once Sam dramatically finished his story with some over the top sound effects, you noticed Yelena had missed a few plates and still wasn’t back. With the dishes in your hands, you made your way to the kitchen, soon hearing the strong accent of your girlfriend. “You're being unfair.” She scolded with a hushed aggression.
“I’m trying to protect you, Lena.” Natasha’s voice fired back. Your ears pricked up at the verb and you were unsure of whether or not to leave the plates on a near table and go or stay to hear about the apparent threat your girlfriend was facing. “She’s going to get herself killed.”
“Oh and you’ve never done something reckless?” Reckless. That was a word you had seen in your S.H.I.E.L.D assessment reports enough times to get a vague idea of who the pair were talking about. Natasha being on the opposing side proved the point more. “When will you drop this?”
“You couldn’t have just dated a normal civilian? Or at least an agent that manages to not get themselves in harm's way on the way to the paper copier.” Well that was hardly accurate. S.H.I.E.L.D didn’t use paper copiers.
“You know maybe if you spent less time being a bitch to her and more time actually getting to know her you would understand why I love her.” Yelena said in a more disappointed tone, most of the frustration drained away from exhaustion. You wondered how long they had been talking about this. Or if they had before. Yelena always acted like there wasn’t any tension between you and her sister. Maybe she thought if she ignored it things would sort themselves out.
There was a heavy silence over the room so with a pang of guilt, you stepped out from behind the wall with the plates still in your hands, fauxing mild surprise when you saw them both, like you didn’t even know they were still there. If they saw through your act, they didn’t say anything. “Thanks, just put them there.” The blonde smiled and pointed at the counter near her. Natasha stayed silent as she watched you from the other side of the room. It always felt like she was studying you for any sign of a weakness when she looked at you, waiting to spot something she could use to strike.
“You need a hand?” You asked as you spied the excessive bubbles in the sink that coaxed your girlfriend’s forearms. “Before you break something.” You joked and watched as Yelena’s cheeks tinted pink as she remembered the shattered glass in the bin at home.
“She’s capable.” Natasha interrupted with stone cold glare.
“That’s okay, detka (babe).” Yelena mumbled and kissed your cheek. “I’m just finishing up.” She said before looking briefly at her sister. “Then we’re going.”
*
To no surprise of your own, Natasha didn’t get any friendly towards you after what you could only assume wasn’t the first discussion the sister’s had had about you. In fact it got considerably worse; not straight away though, that came a few weeks after when the pair came rushing into the cafeteria. Yelena marched in the room with her eyes set on you as the redhead followed by her side, exclaiming something wildly with her hands.
“This is insane. Yelena!” Unfortunately for Natasha, her sister’s stubbornness fiercely rivaled her own.
“Hey, detka.” Yelena smiled as she sat down on the seat in front of you. You gave a small wave as you finished chewing your sandwich, eyeing the pair cautiously. Natasha continued to stand with her arms crossed, mumbling under her breath in Russian. “You busy now?”
“Not really.” You shrugged and brushed the crumbs off your hands.
“Yelena, no.”
“Zamolchi (shut up)!” The blonde fired back. “That’s great,I could really use a hand on a mission.”
“I will go with you.” Natasha insisted but Yelena shooed her away distractedly. “They know who you are, it won’t work.” She hissed.
“That’s why disguises exist!” Natasha yelled, gaining the attention of every other S.H.I.E.L.D agent in the room.
“It won’t work.” Your girlfriend said firmly, her choice was already made and set in stone.
“Okay.” You shrugged and immediately fell under Natasha’s most heated glare.
“Don’t you dare.” She gritted. “There are thousands of agents in this base alone and you’re picking the single most reckless one who will get you killed.” The redhead continued but Yelena, unlike you, wasn’t fazed.
“Great, go pack your stuff.” Yelena cheered.
“Right now?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t fucking move.” Your body betrayed you, keeping you glued to your seat in fear of what method, of the hundreds the widow knew, she would choose to kill you if you stood up.
“I don’t trust anyone else to do this.” Yelena said earnestly to her sister. Natasha considered her sister carefully but still looked unconvinced when her younger sister gave a frustrated huff and took you by the hand to drag you to your feet and past her sister who surprisingly didn’t follow after you both.
As your girlfriend led you down the halls she explained the basis of the mission, telling you how you were to set up a last minute buy with a high profile weapons smuggler. Annoyingly, that was how he worked, telling buyers the location and time of a deal at the last minute. Beneficially, he was a smug prick who only believed in carrying out deals on his own. While he would be armed, there would be no one else with him, making yours and Yelena’s job easier. Yelena was the sniper, shooting to kill. S.H.I.E.L.D had tried apprehending the guy alive but it always ended in casualties and they were finally done with going easy.
You considered it all when you were changing into the outfit Yelena had given you, planning what exactly you could say to the dealer to get him to the specific part of the warehouse that Yelena could shoot at. You were buttoning up your white blouse when the door swung open and Natasha stepped through. “You sure you can handle this?” She asked right off the bat.
“I’ve been through my training just like everyone else here, Natasha. I know you don’t think I’m capable but I’ve been on my fair share of missions and I know protocol and-”
“Just keep her safe.” The Russian said. You blinked and opened your mouth to speak but couldn’t find the words.
“I don’t care if Baros comes out of there in a body bag or in a limo.” You blinked again and continued with your shirt as you decided to just listen to Natasha. “But if one hair on Yelena’s head is harmed I will make you live to regret it for the remainder of your long and very painful days.” She said darkly and you could only nod dumbly. Natasha studied you for a long moment before turning around to head out of the room far less dramatically as she had entered.
“She trusts me for a reason.” You couldn’t help but call out as the redhead opened the door. She glanced at you for a second and left as she called over her shoulder to you.
“I don’t.”
*
“Do you want to get take out tonight? I was thinking that new Chinese place around the corner.” Yelena spoke clearly but she might as well have been thinking aloud because you couldn’t respond. She knew that of course. She knew that you speaking would ruin your cover if Baros had cameras set up around you. “So that’s a yes on the Chinese?” She continued. Okay she was definitely doing it because she knew you couldn’t respond. “Detka there’s no need for you to insist on paying. I owe you one right now.” You bit back a smile until the warehouse doors opened and Baros stepped through, watching you eagerly.
“So nice of you to join me.” You deadpanned. You couldn’t help it. The guy literally chose the time and he was still half an hour late.
“Yes, my apologies.” Baros said in a very unapologetic tone. “Something came up.” He muttered as he placed a large box on the table and unlocked it with an 8 digit code although you were sure there was a lot more to it than that. Not that you cared about his weapons right now. “Now I hear I have something you’re interested in.”
With that, the sale began. At first you thought you were in luck. Baros made a habit of strolling around the room as he explained various weapons that you pretended to be interested in, but he never went to the spot Yelena could shoot. It became irritating very quickly. You walked around too in an attempt to lead him to wear you needed him but he always backed off at the last second. You heard Yelena groan into the earpiece a few times too.
“Is there anything here that’s of interest to you? Or are you more concerned with listening to whoever’s on the other end of that earpiece?” Your eyes snapped to Baros as he watched you curiously. “Where is she?” He asked coldly. Your earpiece wasn’t meant to be visible and the thought that Baros had found a way to get around S.H.I.E.L.D’s technology concerned you greatly.
“I don’t know who you’re talking about, I’m here alone.” You swallowed thickly. Baros gave a throaty laugh in response, some primal hunting impulse starting up.
“I’ve killed every S.H.I.E.L.D agent that has come after me, you and your friend will be no different. Now where is she?”
You wanted to charge at Baros. To knock him to the ground and wrap your hands tightly around his throat and squeeze long and tight enough to make him regret ever threatening your girlfriend. Except you couldn’t move. It wasn’t a fear induced freeze up like you had gotten from Natasha’s glares a few times. There was a much larger and more dangerous obstacle that stopped you moving. Something toxic. Baros gave another manic laugh as he watched that realisation dawn on you. But really, what was panicking you most was that Yelena had been silent for a long time.
“You see, Agent l/n, while you were trying your hardest to get me to play your game, I was beating you at my own. I’ve grown immune to the toxin that’s been circulating the room since your arrival.” You trembled as you dropped to your knees and fell onto your side, only able to watch and listen. “And what your friend sees is a mere projection of us continuing business, audio included of course, so she won’t be coming to get you anytime soon.” You exhaled as heavily as you could in relief at the knowledge that Yelena was safe.
“Now where were we?” Baros asked as he knelt down besides you and lifted your head up, placing the flat of a blade against your cheek. “Oh yes, you were just about to tell me about the other one.”
“Go...to...hell.” You grimace, every word spoken feeling like one of the hardest things you had ever done.
“I’m sure you’ll feel as though you’re there very shortly.” He muttered as the knife very slowly started to dig into your skin.
*
You had no idea how long you were with Baros, how long since he had first started slicing your skin, how long your bones had been broken or even how long since you had first started to cough up blood, most of it staying in your mouth because of your weak diaphragm. You had exceeded your limit long ago, only using your energy to make the occasional snarky comment that made the next attack harsher. You couldn’t seem to stop yourself. It made you feel like you had some control, as did the fact that you never said a word about Yelena.
A gargled scream was ripped from you when Baros pressed the burning hot knife against your latest stab wound, cauterising it to stop you bleeding out and keep you alive for as long as he needed you. A sickening smile crept onto his lips as he watched your eyes fill with tears once again and leant back once he was done. Much to your long awaited relief, that smile was wiped from his face when a spray of red erupted in front of you, shortly followed by Baros dropping to the ground next to you, dead on the spot he had accidentally stood in.
You didn’t trust your relief, you didn’t trust yourself not to be hallucinated after the endless hours of torture, even when a heavily armed S.H.I.E.L.D team flooded into the room. A few gathered around you, asking questions you couldn’t quite understand as bright white lights filled your vision. Then you were being lifted into the air, not aware of the fabric of the stretcher beneath you until the back of your hand dropped onto it. You managed a small trace of a smile before you passed out.
*
There was an arm draped across your stomach when you woke up. It was the first thing you felt, a fact that you were extremely grateful for. You blinked frantically a few times before you turned to look at your girlfriend sleeping by your side on the hospital bed. You smiled at the sight of her peaceful form and tucked some stray hairs behind her ear softly, careful not to wake her. You were glad you cherished that moment of peace and relief, because it wasn’t long before you had more company.
You took your hand away from Yelena’s face when Natasha walked in, settling to keep it by your side, although there was nothing you could do about the arm that was squished between yours and your girlfriend’s body. “I tried my best-” you started but Natasha shook her head.
“You...you did great, y/n.” You smiled sheepishly, sure there were some drugs in your system. “No one could have done any better.” She said as her eyes flickered to the cuts on your face. “So thank you.”
“It was no trouble at all.” You shrugged. Natasha rolled her eyes but smiled faintly, something you never thought you would see directed at you. “I’d never let anything happen to her.” You said honestly. The redhead nodded as she looked at her sister.
“I know that now. I was just scared, I can’t loose her again and you have to admit you’re not the most reliable person on the planet.” You blushed and looked away. “But I trust you now and I’m sorry I doubted you.” She apologised sincerely.
“No harm, no foul.” You joked again, truly not knowing how you were meant to act around the Russian now that you were finally in her good books.
“Don’t make me regret this.” Natasha warned with a smirk. You chuckled lightly and watched as she made to leave. “You should get some rest.” She advised and you nodded but frowned when she was nearly out the door.
“How’d she know?” You asked, making Natasha turn back to you with a quirk of her brow. “That something wasn’t right.” The redhead smiled and shook her head.
“You hadn’t made a smart ass comment in ten minutes.”

MAIN MASTERLIST
-
You woke up feeling great and excited. The mission was finally finished, debriefings were done and reports have been submitted. Everyone was given an entire week to get some rest and since rest days were pretty rare, you truly looked forward to this day.
Before you could even saunter in the kitchen, you had already heard the chatters from your fellow Avengers. One particular voice irked you though but hell no, you weren’t going to let one Bucky Barnes ruin your day.
A chorus of good mornings greeted you as soon as you walked into the kitchen. Nat and Steve were on one side of the counter sipping their coffee while Sam and Wanda were finishing up their food. Tony and Bruce were out of sight, probably holed up in the lab doing experiments as usual. Bucky didn’t acknowledge you and quickly headed out of the kitchen, thankfully. You weren’t in the mood to pick a fight.
Walking up to the cupboards, you quickly grabbed you favorite cereal and proceeded to pour it out on your bowl. None came out though. You peeked inside bag and saw that only crumbs of it were left.
“Who the—“
Everyone was already pointing at Bucky when you turned around to ask. And of course, Bucky did it on purpose because he stood there at the end of the hallway, watching you with smug grin on his face.
“I hope your day sucks.” He said and flipped you the bird before turning around to walk away.
You groaned out loud, ignoring the amused chuckles from everyone else in the kitchen.
“I’m not stooping down to your level, asshole! I hope your day is average!”
The day was fortunately uneventful, except for your ruined breakfast care of Bucky. You were determined not to let that annoy you for the rest of the day. So far, so good. You could only wish it’d continue that way for the rest of the week.
-
“I told you not to rush!” Bucky snapped.
“I had him already! If you didn’t throw that goddamn smoke grenade I would’ve killed him!” You explained.
You could see Sam shaking his head in frustration. Bucky always had to blame something on you even though you weren’t the one at fault.
Bucky snorted, “He had a sniper for fuck’s sake! One shot and you’re dead.”
“Oh wow, says the one who got shot before I did.” You rolled your eyes at Bucky.
The two of you continued to bicker until Nat and Steve walked into the living room looking confused as you and Bucky exchanged insults while Sam remained sandwiched between the both of you on the couch.
“Who got shot?” Steve asked, glancing at you and Bucky alternately.
“Did we miss out on a mission or...?” Nat continued.
Sam chuckled, “We were playing Call of Duty and we lost.” He explained, taking the opportunity to get up from the sofa.
Steve still looked lost, something that Nat immediately picked up. “It’s a video game.” She explained.
“You two are fighting over a game?” He asked you and Bucky.
“They fight over everything.” Nat shrugged and walked out of the room with Sam tagging behind her.
“I’m outta here too, I’m so done babysitting the kids.” He muttered under his breath.
-
It was past midnight when you were in the living room alone, watching television while eating a Whopper. The lights were turned off and it was absolutely quiet in the compound, setting the perfect ambience for the crime documentary you were watching.
Not long after, you heard someone walk into the living room. It was only when your heard the familiar grunt that you realized who it was. Of course, it had to be Bucky.
“Are you eating a burger?” He asked incredulously.
“No, it’s popcorn. Of course it’s a fucking burger, are you blind or just dumb?” You snapped, your eyes still glued on the television.
“Dumbfounded that you’re eating that at this hour. No wonder you suck at cardio.” Bucky said as he sat down on the other end of the sofa.
“Are you body-shaming me?” You gasped.
Bucky snickered, “I didn’t say anything, I just said you suck at cardio.” He said, not looking at you.
You chose to ignore him and brought your attention back to the television. It was quiet for moment. You almost forgot about Bucky’s presence until of course, he decided to annoy you yet again.
“Can you pass the remote?” Bucky asked monotonously.
“No.”
Silence.
“This show sucks.” He commented.
You were focused on the show but noticed that Bucky was staring at you.
“Can you please pass the remote?” He asked again.
“In case you didn’t notice, I’m watching. I was here first. I hold the rights to control the remote.” You deadpanned, refusing to look at him.
There was a flash of black and gold right before your eyes. Everything happened quickly and the next thing you knew, Bucky was hovering above you, trapping you between his body and the arm rest of the sofa.
“The fuck, Barnes?! Get off of me!” You protested and started pushing him away.
“You gotta work on your reflexes, darling.” He said, finally leaning away from you, remote now in his hand.
He grinned triumphantly and switched the channel before placing the remote inside his sweatpants, “Want to switch the channel? Come and get it.” he taunted as he leaned back on the couch, opening his legs wide as he showed off how the remote created a tent in his sweatpants.
That was the remote...right? You mentally slapped yourself for actually thinking about what Bucky was packing beneath those pants and frowned.
“You’re an asshole and a disgusting one.” You told him.
“God, I hate you.” You muttered and crumpled the wrapper of your burger before throwing it at Bucky.
Deciding that you didn’t want to argue any further, you got up and left the living room, but not without telling Bucky again how much you hated him for making your life miserable.
“The feeling is mutual.” You heard him say.
-
The petty fights with Bucky went on and on during that entire week of rest. Despite the arguments, there were small moments of kindness shared between you and the soldier.
“Where are you going dressed up so nicely?” You asked Bucky upon seeing him walk into the kitchen wearing a leather jacket on top of a black shirt, dark, tight-fitting jeans and a pair of Doc Martens.
It was meant as an insult, of course. You took every opportunity to tease Bucky and his newfound sense of fashion. Said fashion meant his taste for very millennial outfits despite his old age.
“Grocery.” He replied as he went over to the fridge to pour himself a glass of water.
“Ooh, can you buy me Starbucks on your way back? I’ll pay.” You asked kindly.
Bucky just stared at you as he drank from his glass of water. He slammed it on the counter before walking past you.
“Not a damn chance.”
He did buy you Starbucks though. It didn’t shock you that much considering that the both of you didn’t hate on each other all the damn time. But what surprised you was that he brought you your usual drink and your favorite pastry too.
Steve must have forced him to do so, probably told his best friend your usual orders as well so you made a note to thank him as soon as they got back.
And thank Steve you did, but you didn’t expect the reply that you got.
“Oh was that the reason why Bucky kept bugging me about stopping by Starbucks?” Steve asked.
You narrowed your eyes at him, “What do you mean? I thought he told you I asked him to buy me Starbucks.”
Steve chuckled, “I guess now I know why he wouldn’t shut up about it.” he said, amusement laced in his tone.
“I don’t understand, Cap.” you said.
Steve just smiled at you in response before squeezing your shoulder, “Maybe you will understand soon.”
And with that, he left you feeling even more confused. You honestly didn’t understand the context of the conversation so you decided to just ignore it. Steve sometimes would say weird shit that none of the Avengers knew about. You dismissed it and thought that maybe it was Steve being a decade old, it was probably an old man thing.
You decided to make coffee for Bucky the following day, as a simple gesture to thank him for the Starbucks. He didn’t ask you to pay him back so you felt obligated to do a little something for him. You were an asshole to him sometimes, yes, but that didn’t mean you weren’t going to give credit where credit is due.
Okay, so maybe you didn’t really hate Bucky. If you did actually hate him, the entire team would probably do something about it. Maybe force the two of you to talk things out. The hatred was all fun and games, everyone seemed to be amused by it too.
You still considered Bucky your friend despite the constant bickering. You had to admit, the arguments were pretty fun.
Although, you were wondering whether Bucky felt the same about considering you as his friend. Sometimes, his attitude towards you confused the hell out of you.
One day he’d eat the chocolate you’ve been saving up for cheat day just to spite you. And it definitely did because you ended up cursing him out loud when you saw him munching on it. The next day he brought you a new one. You were watching Netflix when he waltzed into the living room and threw a bar of chocolate at your lap before walking out without saying a word.
These exchange of small yet kind (and confusing) gestures remained unacknowledged. You didn’t know why but you also didn’t feel the need to talk about them. You weren’t going to lie but Bucky’s random acts of kindness would always put a smile on your face.
-
The vacation unfortunately came to an end and everyone had to go back to saving the world. All of you were gathered in the conference room with Fury for a briefing about the next mission. It wasn’t as big as the last one but it still required a lot of planning.
After explaining the mission, Fury let Steve take over the meeting to strategize.
Some were assigned to do surveillance around the parameter while some were appointed to do all the groundwork. Steve of course, just had to partner you with Bucky to do the actual infiltration given that your skills complemented each other’s.
You grinned and was prepared to roast Bucky’s ass when you turned to him and was met with a scowl. He shook his head with what you assumed was disappointment and turned away from you.
It was the first time he ever dismissed you like that. Sure, you were rude to each other but the look that Bucky gave you wasn’t a teasing one. He wasn’t mocking you nor frustrated. Bucky seemed to really hate the idea of being partnered with you. It was the first time that the two of you had to work together without anyone else. Usually, Steve or Sam joined but for this mission, it was just you and Bucky. Concluding that he must have woken up at the wrong side of the bed, you chose to ignore your gut feeling and focused back to Steve.
After the meeting, everyone else exited the room and started with the preparations for the mission. As you walked down the hallway leading to your bedroom, you heard some soft chattering coming from Steve’s bedroom.
You were supposed to ignore it until you heard your name, making you stop in your tracks.
“I can’t be partnered with her, Steve.”
Bucky.
“Buck, just go with it. I can’t be changing assignments at the last minute.” Steve explained.
Bucky sighed, “You know I can’t function properly when she’s around, let alone be partnered with her. She distracts me, Steve. Her skills distract me and I swear on our friendship, I would end up dying on this assignment.”
“You’re being overly dramatic, Buck. Just suck it up, pal. Do the mission and get it over with.”
“Steve, you don’t understand. I really can’t deal with her. Especially if it’s just the two of us. You know how much I fucking—“
“Hate me?”
You couldn’t help but interject in their conversation. How could you not? Bucky was complaining about how he couldn’t deal with you. It really hurt hearing Bucky say all those things about you. Sure, you were somewhat new to the team and you didn’t have superpowers nor years of training like the rest. But you worked your ass off to be in this position. And for him to say that he couldn’t function with you being around struck a nerve. The last thing on your mind was to hold back your teammates, that’s why you train twice, thrice as hard.
Steve and Bucky stared at you as if they’ve seen a ghost. It’s as if all their blood was drained out of their body when they saw you step inside the room. Bucky was about to say something but you decided to cut him off, not wanting to hear more about how he doesn’t want to be partnered with you.
“We don’t get along that well, I get that. But I honestly thought that our arguments were harmless. Hell, I consider us friends. I didn’t think that you actually hated me.” Your voice quivered because you were truly, deeply hurt.
“That’s not what I meant.” Bucky insisted.
“You literally said that you might end up dying because of being partnered with me, Bucky! Look, I know that I don’t have a super serum running through my veins. I can’t move things with my mind and I can’t come up with life-changing tech. I wasn’t trained since childhood nor have the perfect aim. But I worked hard to be in this team. I trained hard not to be a burden to anyone and I’m sorry if my skills aren’t up to your standards.”
What did you even do to Bucky for him to hate you this much?
“Don’t worry, I won’t burden you. Once this mission is over, I won’t bother you anymore. Ever.” You said before walking out of the way, ignoring Bucky when he had repeatedly called your name.
-
The ride to the location was filled with tension. Although everyone else had no idea what happened, they somehow knew that the tension had something to do with you and Bucky.
Thankfully, the quinjet was big enough for you not to end up sitting beside Bucky.
“You okay?” Wanda asked, noticing how restless you were.
What you heard definitely affected you in more ways than one. You kept on double checking your weapons, your gadgets and you even ended up doubting yourself. Were you really equipped to be an Avenger? Steve said that Bucky was merely overacting but what if he was right? What if you weren’t skilled enough to protect him or your teammates?
“That’s not true.” Wanda said out of the blue. “I didn’t mean to read your mind, though. Your thoughts are coming off too strong, kinda hard to ignore.” She said apologetically.
You softly laughed, “I should really be staying away from you.” You joked.
Wanda smiled and placed her hand on top of yours, “I mean it though. You’re amazing at what you do. I don’t understand why you’re doubting yourself about being an Avenger.”
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you offered Wanda a grateful smile. You noticed that Bucky had been staring at you the entire time but simply ignored him. You weren’t going to let him snap you out of your focus.
-
Once on location, everyone started to split up and listened for Steve’s orders through the comms. You and Bucky managed to get inside the base, all thanks to Nat and the Hulk who handled all the guards.
The building was completely empty when the two of you walked around in search of the hidden quarters where all the intel were kept.
Bucky whistled to get your attention, you turned and saw that he was motioning towards what seemed to be a regular brick wall. However, there were a few bricks out of place and upon examining it, you realized it was some sort of a secret door. You managed to figure out which bricks to push and thankfully, it didn’t take you long enough to open the door which revealed an old, steel elevator.
“We found the entrance, Steve.” Bucky said into the comms.
“Careful in there, there were suspiciously a few guards within the parameters. They all might be in there.” Nat warned.
You heaved out a deep breath before stepping into the elevator with Bucky trailing behind you. There was only one button in the elevator, a red one.
“Can someone scan the elevator and make sure this button won’t set off any boobie trap or something?” You asked nervously as you inspected the elevator for any hidden traps.
The comms cracked with Sam’s voice. “Button is safe although...” he trailed.
“Although what?” Bucky asked, examining the elevator as well.
“You’re in for a long ride.”
You frowned, “How long?” You asked.
“Can’t see. It’s way too deep.”
Sam was able to scan the entire base and true enough, the elevator would lead deep down into the hidden laboratory. How deep into the ground it was, none could tell. Neither Sam nor Tony’s technology could see through due to the lack of signal. Steve said it might be dangerous to proceed given that there were no other ways into the lab except for the elevator.
The lack of signal down there meant no communication.
“Guys, I don’t think it’s a good idea to continue with this mission.” Steve said.
“But we’re so close, Steve.” You said.
“I think Steve is right. It’d be hard to call for back up when things go south.” Bucky interjected, not even sparing you a glance.
You snorted. Bucky sure wasn’t overacting when he was complaining about your skills. He definitely didn’t trust you. You weren’t going to settle for that.
“We won’t need any back up.”
And with that, you pressed the red button and completely ignored everyone’s warnings through the comms. Bucky looked at you with disbelief and tried to press the red button again in hopes of halting the elevator. However, the brick wall had closed and the elevator started its descent.
“Why the fuck did you do that?!” He yelled and tried to search the elevator for some sort of stop button.
“We’ll follow soon!” Steve’s voice was the last you heard before your comms completely lost its signal.
“Christ, we don’t even know whether it’s the lab that’s down there!” Bucky said, continuing his search for anything that would bring the both of you up to the ground floor.
“I’m not as stupid as you think I am. All secret doors lead to a top secret room and no, we won’t be needing any back up because I am totally capable of taking down anyone who gets in the way.” You stubbornly replied and leaned against the wall.
You wondered how long the elevator ride was going to be. At the speed that it’s going, it wasn’t impossible to take at least fifteen to twenty minutes if the lab was really far down into the ground. Bucky’s frustration was evident from the way he kept on inspecting the elevator walls. At first it was easy to ignore but Bucky was becoming more and more desperate to find a way to go back up.
“Your desperation to stay away from me is just...astounding.” You said with a bitter chuckle.
“I’m finding a way to get out of here, not away from you.” Bucky explained calmly.
You shook your head, “You don’t trust me to keep you alive, I get it. But can you tone it down even for just a bit?” You spat at him.
Bucky pressed the bridge of his nose and let out an exasperated sigh, “You don’t need to keep me alive.”
“Of course not, you don’t need me to do so ‘cause you’re so capable. How did I not think of that?” At this point, you couldn’t stop the word vomit.
You had tons of things to say to Bucky to prove to him that you were totally good at what you do, that he didn’t need to underestimate you just because you were a new addition to the team.
“That’s not what I mean.” Bucky explained again.
It was starting to annoy you that the more you were becoming agitated, the calmer he was becoming. And he kept on telling you that he meant differently with his statements but he never really attempted to further explain his side.
“Then what do you mean, Bucky?” You pressed. “What did I ever do to you for you to hate me this much? Did I say something offensive? Do I have to train 24/7 for you to think that I deserve to be working alongside the Avengers?” You kept on babbling on and on and on.
Bucky rubbed his face with his hand, “I don’t hate you, okay?” He doesn’t even spare you a look.
All this time, he was looking at anything but you and it was really getting on your nerves.
“See? You keep on telling me that you don’t hate me but you can’t even look at me! I mean, if you really loathe me then own up to it! It hurts me more that you keep on denying it when you can’t even explain a damn thing. At least tell me why!” You were never an emotional person and Bucky knew that, so when he finally turned to look at you, he was surprised to see you on the verge of tears.
“Hey, hey...” Bucky coaxed and tried to hold you but you stepped away from him.
“Just please tell me why, Buck. Tell me and I promise to stay away. If you think I suck at being an Avenger to the point of irritating you, tell me so I can train my fucking ass off until you deem me fit to be an Avenger. If my jokes offended you, I’m sorry. If I—“
“It’s because I like you.”
“...what?”
Bucky Barnes...likes you? It’s as if the silence went on forever inside the elevator that seemed to keep going. How long were the two of you inside it anyway? You couldn’t tell anymore and you didn’t know whether Bucky was simply fooling around with you.
“That’s not funny.” You said.
Bucky shook his head, “It’s not a joke.”
You stared at him doubtfully, “Explain.” You demanded.
Bucky licked his lips and let out a soft chuckle, “I’m an idiot.” He said.
“That doesn’t explain anything. If any, I’d think you’re simply fucking with me.” You pointed out and crossed your arms over your chest.
That seemed to urge Bucky to finally explain. “What you heard in Steve’s room was correct.”
“So you really hate me.”
Bucky groaned, “Let me finish, please?” He pleaded. When you remained silent, he continued to explain himself.
“You really do distract me during missions. Because you’re so amazing and I never doubted your skills. But I also get worried and I hate it when I see you in pain or wounded and it fucking distracts me. I didn’t want to be partnered with you because when I see you, I just...fuck. I like you that much. You kick someone’s ass and I’d end up watching you with awe that it’d cause me my own demise. That’s what I meant. That I’d probably end up dying because whenever you’re around, you have my full attention.”
The anger within you dissipated just like that. You could feel your face heat up from Bucky’s unexpected confession.
“But you’re an asshole to me.” You pointed out.
Bucky laughed, “Because that’s how I get your attention. You walk into a room with a kind-hearted super soldier, a witty bird brain and a few more intelligent men and yet I’d be the first one you’d acknowledge. With a snarky comment but still, attention is attention. It’s the only way I get to interact with you without feeling awkward. I suck at conversations, I mean, you heard me and though I was hating on you when I was merely blabbering to Steve about how much I like you.”
This time, you couldn’t hold back your laughter. All along, Bucky was finding a way to talk to you even though it meant constant arguments over the pettiest things. To be fair though, he really did suck at communicating.
“I’m sorry that it came across like that.” Bucky apologized sincerely. “I hope this doesn’t change anything between us.” He admitted.
You shrugged, “Oh but it does. In fact, it changes everything.”
Bucky’s face fell.
“Because I think I like you too and I kinda want for things to change. For the better of course.” You grinned.
Bucky chuckled and scratched his forehead bashfully, “You think, huh? Not sure?” He asked and turned to you just as the elevator doors opened.
Indeed, it led to the lab where almost all of the targets stayed. The man nearest the elevator had his gun pointed at Bucky but before he could even pull the trigger, Bucky had thrown his knife at him without even sparing a glance and choked the next guy to attack with his metal arm before throwing him towards a group of armed men. He was just gazing at you with a smittened smile.
“Still not sure about liking me back?”
Impressed at his gesture, you smirked.
“Now I am.”
-
By the time Steve, Nat and Sam walked out of the elevator, the mission had already been done. You walked towards the trio and handed Steve a USB.
“All their data is already saved there. Wiped out their entire system clean too.” You told him, voice chirpy and all.
Bucky was right behind you, a couple of folders in his hands before handing them to Sam, “Lotsa confidential info in there too which includes our next targets.” he said and walked past Sam with a certain jump in his steps.
The three exchanged glances before looking around the entire lab. Men were scattered on the floor, most were dead and others heavily injured.
“What the hell happened here?” Nat asked, avoiding the injured men on the ground as she walked around.
“The mission happened, Nat. All that matters now is that everything has been resolved. I mean, everything.” You said meaningfully and threw Bucky a flirty smile before walking into the elevator.
He followed suit and saluted at the three before pushing the red button. The doors weren’t even closed yet when Bucky couldn’t hold back and quickly leaned to press a soft kiss on your lips. An action that definitely didn’t go unnoticed by the three. You couldn’t help but chuckle when you noticed their reactions before the elevator closed.
Said trio stood there dumbfounded and confused as hell. Early on, the tension between you and Bucky was felt by everyone. The kind of tension then wasn’t even a sexual one. It was so intense that Nat was actually expecting to see you and Bucky at each other’s throats when they got down to the lab.
“Guess that the long ass elevator ride did something. Whatever was in that elevator seems interesting. Wanna go check it out, Nat?” Sam asked suggestively.
Steve chuckled and shook his head.
Nat simply smirked and walked past Sam, “In your dreams, Wilson.”

(streamer bf gogy brainrot brrr) hello sweet anon! thank you for much for this request :) I love love love all the geo simps and their ideas. also thank you to my dearest LB for helping me with the plot help. happy reading, everyone! ♡ ᵍᵉⁿᵉ
Tumblr media
You tapped your fingers on your desk, nails clattering at you waiting to be let into your third Zoom meeting of the day. Usually, you got off with only one lecture, but because of upcoming exams, you were finding yourself in and out of virtual meetings and office hours. Sure, it was better than jogging from building to building, fighting the crowds, and searching for a seat in a packed lecture hall, but it was still wearing you down beyond belief.
You rested your chin in your hand as your window went from white to dark grey, the square with your name getting wedged in beside the professor. Everyone’s cameras were off, a thankful sigh leaving your lips as your head slumped down to lay against your arm, the danger of falling asleep suddenly becoming more prominent.
You jumped slightly as your professor cleared their throat, sharing their screen and beginning to ramble off facts listed on the slideshow. You played with your keyboard, focused on removing a crumb from beneath your spacebar that was almost unreachable. You usually took notes in the class, but today was just one of those days.
“... And with that in mind, I’m going to put you all into breakout rooms…” Your professor trailed off, eyebrows furrowed as they peered at their screen and clicked frantically to assign all of you to rooms. You yawned, smacking your cheeks and sitting up. You were determined not to be a shitty partner, at least. The white box popped up, inviting you to join breakout room four. That’s always lucky, you thought to yourself as you joined.
Once again, you were cursed to look at the buffering wheel of death as your internet struggled to sustain all your opened tabs. Please, just a little longer, you groaned internally, eyes dashing towards the receiver and exhaling in relief as your computer connected to the breakout room. You turned on your camera, eliciting your partner, George, to do the same.
You flashed him a smile as you struggled to open the article from the previous night. “Hi! How’s it going?” You greeted, not yet looking at him.
“I’m good, actually. How are you?” He engaged, his voice deep and tired.
You finally managed to split your screen enough so that you could see him and the article. “Yeah, I’m good too. Thanks,” you chewed the inside of your cheek, eyes skimming some of the notes you’d etched into the margins. “So, did you have any idea what,” you paused, squinting at the author’s name, “Robert A. Schneider means when he discusses how ‘men of letters’ fear the lower class more than anything?” You asked, as your eyes trailed across your screen to finally gauge his reaction, you were taken aback by his appearance.
His soft features and dark eyes made you feel safe. As he smiled softly, running his fingers into his hair, he seemed to be racking his brain for an answer. He opened his mouth to begin, detailing what you had previously thought with better articulation.
The two of you got through the basic questions the professor had scripted for the students, then finding yourself still stuck in the breakout room. On a normal day, your professor would have pulled everyone back into the call after the first few questions.
George swiveled in his chair quietly as he listened to you briefly explain your area of study. His kind smile made your heart flutter slightly. Deep down, you hoped the two of you would be stuck in the room for a while.
Soon your topics blended into what kind of movies you both watched, a debate on where you could buy the cheapest bread on campus, and what kind of party people the two of you were. After an hour, instead of worrying whether or not your professor was dead, you were swapping numbers and planning out how the two of you would turn the Florida Keys into the headquarters of your new cult where the members would all worship a separate bitchy philosopher.
You pulled one of your legs to your chest, resting your cheek against your knee as his laughing died out. “Okay, this might be a weird question, but I need to know why your webcam is so clear. Is it like an OnlyFans thing or…”
He chuckled. “Yeah it’s definitely OnlyFans,” he joked, making you laugh. “I’m actually a ᵐⁱⁿᵉᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ ˢᵗʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ” he mumbled.
Your eyebrows perked playfully. “You’re a what?”
He pursed his lips to fit the grin stretching across his face. “ᵃ ᵐⁱⁿᵉᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ ˢᵗʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ”
You snorted slightly. “Sorry darling, you’ll have to speak up. What was that?”
He wet his lips, rolling his eyes as he bashfully groaned. “I’m a Minecraft streamer.”
You giggled, him basking in your disbelief. He smiled a bit brighter as he shrugged, leaning back in his chair as you rambled off questions. “There’s no way! Nerd!” you chaffed, making him smile as if he liked it when you playfully teased him. “Are you super popular?” You asked, catching your breath.
He bit his bottom lip swaying his head slightly as if deciding not to answer. “Mmmm. Not really.”
“Well, come on, Georgios! Give me your Twitch user and I’ll be your biggest fan, I promise.” He laughed at your response, digging out his phone to send you a link.
“I’d like to see you try,” he mumbled.
After the class had finally ended, you’d learned that your professor was on the phone with their credit card company. In the following weeks, you and George were in constant contact, even becoming part of each other’s daily routines.
As you studied for finals, you’d turn on his stream, letting his voice alleviate some of the stress of your exams. He knew you were watching and would even drop hints for you in what he was saying, or he’d blatantly just ask what you were talking about in your essay for a certain class. After the stream would end, he’d call you either on Discord or the phone, just so it felt like the two of you were studying together.
Jokingly, you badgered him to send you some of his merch, threatening to buy it from a bootleg online store if he didn’t. He had only brushed it off at the time, but shortly after, you received a hoodie in the mail with his gamer tag printed across it.
It was late at night when you’d received it, the tiredness of your eyes and George’s dulcet tones lulling you towards the idea of a dead sleep. Yet, you were drawn from your pleasant relaxation with the shrilling of your doorbell. You shrugged out of your blanket cocoon, grabbing your phone and trudging down the stairs. As you tore open the bag, your phone buzzed with a text from George asking if you’d seen something that one of his chat members. You chuckled softly and dug your hand into the material, holding it out in front of you.
You snickered to yourself, running your fingers across the red patch in the center. You slipped it over your head, letting the softness of the fabric brush against your skin. You snapped a photo of yourself and stumbled back upstairs before sending it to him.
When you returned, George was focused on something he was crafting. His eyes darted down to one corner of the screen where his phone was probably sitting. His eyes flashed back up with a smug grin on his face as if he knew exactly what you were going to say. Your “Thanks sugar daddy xx,” probably didn’t help either.
“What, chat?” His voice came out slightly uneven as he bit back a smile. You skimmed what people were asking. “It’s not a nude. A friend of mine got something I sent them,” he answered nonchalantly, finishing up what he was doing. The chat began to spam quietly. “No, it’s not a maid costume. Jesus Christ.” He leaned back in his chair, grabbing his phone and opening your message.
A grin spread across his face, alongside the light dusting of rosy pigment settling in his cheeks. He chuckled to himself, quickly replying before getting back to his game. You scoffed at his response.
George (H325) Anything for my silly little baka
You curled up again, putting away your schoolwork and devoting your attention to watching his stream as you drifted off to sleep.
Once again, you found yourself at the mercy of your internet as you attempted to join the breakout room assigned to you. You almost jumped out of your chair when it finally connected and you found George waiting for you. You smiled slightly as he scrolled through his phone. “What are the chances?” You asked, pulling his eyes to you.
He grinned, clicking off whatever he was looking at. “I was just about to raid your inbox.”
You chuckled. “I almost wore your merch to class, just to out you to whoever my partner was,” you joked, making him roll his eyes.
“I’m glad it’s me then,” he responded. You began scrounging around for your article. After a beat of hesitation, George spoke up again. “Hey, I’m glad you like the sweatshirt…” You perked an eyebrow in his direction. “I actually haven’t been able to get that picture out of my head. I know it’s stupid,” he stated lightly, chuckling nervously. You could feel your heart beating in your ears. “It’s so lame, but I think I have a crush on you.”
You sat back in your chair, stunned. “I mean, the feeling’s mutual. Even if it’s lame,” you mirrored, winking at him. “I mean, maybe it’s not lame because I know I like you.”
He smiled to himself at your answer before chuckling, “Should we Zoom date or something?”

Hey, can you write Indra + size kink + cockworship + nasty cum stuff ?? Sorry, i'm hungry for that man
Sorry this took me SO FUCKING LONG omfg
No need to be sorry, I’m as hungry as you. I haven’t written smut in a while, so bear with me, I’m getting back at it:,(
Tw: Indra knows nothing about communication
Tumblr media
When Indra enters the house, the sun has already set. He looks drained, tired. It’s been days since he started wearing his hair loose, devoid of his usual ponytail, and it only helps to make him look more massive than he is.
His steps are heavy as he heads to the bedroom, and when he looks at you with those expressionless serious eyes, you know he won’t be eating dinner today either. That’s okay, you’re not used to spending time together as a normal couple anyway, and you know you’d feel weird if he actually sat down with you and joined you for a meal.
His form disappears down the corridor and you know he has found the way to bed, seeking comfort from the adversities of the day. His shadow is dragged across the walls by the candlelight, and for a moment, it looks like the demon everyone says he is.
But of course, you know better than to believe those ridiculous tales.
It’s been months since this man appeared in your village, a place led by a poor wretch who was trying his best to get his people ahead. Only a few enjoyed good fortune, privilege, and wealth, and you were not one of them. Life before Indra, here, was based on working hard for pennies, finding food wherever possible, wearing the same clothes repeatedly for lack of more garments. Poverty was rampant among almost the entire village population, and despite the leader’s best efforts, nothing seemed to work for the betterment of the situation.
But a mysterious man with long hair and thick shoulders, tattooed eyes, impressive physique compared to the famine-stricken people... left everyone captivated. With just a couple of suggestions and commands, things turned around, and the outlook brightened for everybody. This mysterious man quickly rose in the hierarchical power of the village, and the current leader ended up giving up his place.
Indra became their ruler overnight, and hopes for the future of the town seemed to grow stronger and stronger again.
Town expansion was inevitable, welcoming visitors and travelers intrigued by the legends of this man who brought fortune to a doomed place. Enemies were also unavoidable. The Otsutsuki defended and used all his power to prevent the destruction of the foundations he had built with so much effort, leaving everyone terrified in his steps.
His red eyes became stories used by mothers to frighten disobedient children, his violet beast traveled on the tongues of all the merchants and their incessant rumors.
Respect mingled with fear, yet Indra never wavered.
He looked imposing as he walked the streets of the town, staring at nothing in particular, an expression forged by iron and ice. His towering figure seemed to cast a gigantic shadow over every other man nearby, and all the women were dying to take the vacant place at his side.
Everyone thought as he became leader he would choose one of the few wealthy ladies of the village as his wife, but he did not.
It was months after his ascension to power before he communicated with a woman. And that turned out to be you.
Although the village prospered and grew bigger every day, your life remained the same, complicated. Money was scarce as well as food, and working hard every morning was necessary if you wanted to get a crumb of bread.
You tended the garden of a prosperous family, kneeling in the morning dew, your clothes covered in dirt from the work you had started just a few minutes ago.
Footsteps in front of you broke your concentration, and when you looked up, a tall figure was staring down at you. A flowing robe floated in the wind, and that frown was visible even from the floor. Indra was intimidating without uttering a word.
“You look thoroughly filthy.” He had said. “I’m sorry, my lord.” You had replied, bowing your head in respect.
You did not finish that day’s work, for offering you a wide hand, Indra Otsutsuki himself lifted you from the dirt and escorted you to get a fresh change of clothes. Not one of the worn-out ones you used to wear, but an expensive one, of excellent quality, full of exquisite details. A garment of high society, one of the kind he himself usually wore.
From that moment on, he did not leave your side. It was only a matter of time before you moved into his residence, an immense house in the middle of town. You became the envy of all women, no one being able to understand how their leader could choose a servant girl as his partner.
And despite the fear you felt towards him at first, although his haughty looks seemed to be empty initially, you eventually grew to understand him. Dread turned into respect, affection, love.
After all, he saved you from that life of misery to give you one of luxury and privilege, asking for nothing in return. Even though you slept in the same bed every night, he never touched a single hair on your head, never came near you, never took the initiative you feared he may take.
“Why me?” you asked once, the blush on your face shielded by nighttime darkness inside the room. A large space lay between you both on the bed, and Indra, while you couldn’t see him, probably had his back to you. “You are the prettiest.” He replied simply, and you caught a note of amusement in his voice.
During the day it was rare for you to see him, but at sunset, you would both be in the bedroom. No lustful touches in the middle were necessary to make the night complete, for the silences which at first were awkward eventually were filled with chatter.
That intimidating look, that wide-backed warrior with blood-colored eyes, became a companion, a pleasant person to spend time with. Never smiled, never laughed, but you know he is calm, that he enjoys the moment as much as you do. You’ve seen him interact with other people, how his muscles tense when someone is way too close for his comfort, how his brow furrows when anyone speaks to him. You know you’re the only person he tolerates, appreciates, and loves around him.
That’s why seeing him arrive like this is something uncomfortable in your chest. Slowly following in his footsteps, you find his clothes lost all the way back to the room. You pick up garment by garment, and there is a certain satisfaction as you smell his clothes and feel his perfume. As you reach the doorway, he is already tucked into bed, buried under sheets. One of his arms supports his head and acts as a pillow while his other hand scratches his chest, which is slightly uncovered. One of his legs is bent, and covers slip off his skin, revealing a thigh and worked muscles. His eyes are closed, but he knows you are there.
Leaving his clothing on a chair, you approach him and sit on the edge of the bed, hands clasped in your lap. Rarely have you seen this scene, where he relaxes with all his rights in his own bed. Sex has never been addressed between the two of you, and it’s something you’re grateful for. Rumors travel faster than the wind, and many a woman has walked around claiming to have spent time in the bed of the mighty Indra. Whether that’s true, you don’t know, and you’ve never asked either.
If true, your experience is undoubtedly unparalleled.
Still, seeing him like this, becoming one with the bed and stretching out, getting a taste of his toned chest and his thick thigh... Curiosity suddenly demands more.
“You’re staring.” His eyes are still closed, but to be put on display is still just as humiliating. “I’m sorry...” You’re not sure if get up and leave at that moment, but it’s his voice that clears the uncertainty. “Why? I’m your partner, naturally.”
It feels like confirmation of your actions, and you become brave all at once.
“Can I help you... To feel better?....” Your voice is full of hesitation, yet one end of his lips lifts, revealing a wickedly tinged smirk.
“Be my guest.”
Climbing on top of him, your hands tremble with anxiety and anticipation. His eyes flutter open and he watches you intently, analyzing where your actions lead. The man really is huge, and being partially on top of him, the size difference is even greater. Indra seems to rejoice in your stupor, picking up on your intentions and stirring the sheets covering him as you settle between his legs.
Whatever nervousness you felt about what was to come only grows worse at the sight of his size, as even half-hard, his cock’s intimidatingly enormous length.
“Already frightened?” The teasing tone sliding across his tongue fills you with new determination, and with both hands, you hold his shaft. One at the base and one at the head. Your tongue timidly explores that unfamiliar surface, feeling in your grip how hardness invades his dick second after second.
Your lips wrap carefully around it, and pushing gently, inch by inch, his length finds its way into the pleasantly warm depths of your mouth. One of your hands slowly slides down, dragging skin in its wake.
Fixing your eyes on Indra while trying to deal with the raw, inexperienced situation and size, you notice impatience and need, lust swimming in red eyes dominates his expression.
From an instant to the next, your shoulders are enveloped by two gigantic hands, and position is turned around, a vast body hovering over you and trapping you underneath it.
“You teasing little fucker...”
Being handled like that awakens something on the inside that you rarely felt before, some sort of tingling urgently needing to be soothed. A broad palm grasps your chin, which moves your face in the direction Indra desires as he suddenly engulfed your lips.
You have never kissed this man before, and to be making out with him for the first time in these circumstances should feel wrong... but it only builds up more sensations in your lower belly, a treacherous emptiness, and an almost unfamiliar fire.
Your hands awkwardly find his back, and the need to press him against your face, to demand more, to extract more from those luscious lips is interesting. There is no more distance to close between the two of you, but you want to crush yourself against his labored chest until becoming one.
The moment ends quickly as you gasp for air, and trying to recover, a sultry Indra, who grins viciously seductive overpowers your gaze.
“I’ll introduce you to a thing or two...”
Before you comprehend what his words mean, the position changes again, and his two knees are one on either side of your head. He looks even more terrifying from this angle than in everyday life, and you don’t venture to peek at his dick. Two of his fingers slide across your lower lip, caressing your cheek, and suddenly squeeze your face harshly. Your mouth is forced open, but when his cock slides over your tongue and you understand the functionality of the pose, you ease back.
Your lack of experience was driving him crazy, and rather than loosening him up, you were upsetting him further. Managing the matter with his own hands, or rather with his own hips, Indra finds peace again.
Rising to height, one of his palms cradles your face, while the other supports himself against the wall. You try to find stability by holding onto his thighs, and as he buries himself lower in your mouth, sensations in your body become almost unbearable, coupled with his movements.
Indra is kind at first, gradually pushing into your inexperienced cavity slowly, closing his eyes tightly and fighting the urge to destroy your mouth.
Yet when your jaw relaxes completely, grasping the rhythm and feel of the situation, he lets go. The beast is finally released, and the Otsutsuki fucks your lips with abandon, hitting the end of your throat with each thrust. His hips move with agility, and imagining him between your legs with the same surrender and strength makes you hold on.
Tears decorate your cheeks and eyelashes, blending with the saliva dripping from your mouth every time that cock lunges at your face. Indra becomes completely abstracted, tilting his head back as deep growls rise from deep within his chest.
When air is inevitably needed and you can no longer avoid gagging, you repeatedly slap his thighs, drawing his attention. He leans his forehead against the wall and holds your face with both hands, withdrawing his dick from your throat and catching his breath with difficulty. His gaze is fixed on you, and although you could probably look better, you feel really appreciated under those red eyes.
The fluids from your mouth completely soaked your chest and cheeks, your clothes are soaked, and at the sight, the Otsutsuki slides his fingers across your wet skin, then strokes his shaft twice.
When you catch your breath, you place a kiss on the head which has been hitting the back of your throat for minutes, showing he may continue.
Without a second thought, he burrows deeply into your mouth, reaching a depth he hadn’t hit before. The grunt he exhales makes your skin crawl, and you really want to see him enjoy you like this for the rest of your life.
He gives you time to breathe again, and his thrusts become more shallow, seeking more contact with the softness of your tongue and the warmth of your cheeks. It isn’t long before his length is completely out of your cavity and he works it rapidly, seeking the longed-for finish. You’re not sure what you should do, so you simply watch him, amazed at the size of his hands.
After a few seconds, several white shots paint your face, staining your hair and chest, leaving practically nowhere without even a drop. It’s unexpected, but satisfying.

Can I ask what it would be like for Solsu having to take care of drunk romanced companions? Bonus points if they're told about their shenanigans afterword.
Cait:
(Angry drunk)
•It's best that you don't drink in polite company with her. She's already a feisty individual with a burning passion for inflicting pain, you make her drunk and it's only a matter of time before she incites some horrible fight.
•Sounds funny, but it's really not. Reign her back. Please.
Curie:
.......you aren't really gonna let her drink, right? I highly advise you don't....
Danse:
(Horny drunk 👀)
•Danse hardly ever partakes in more than a couple glasses with company and this is exactly why.
•At first it all starts off nice and smooth, just Danse beginning to gradually relax- which is "outstanding" considering his usual rigid disposition. However once that fine line of too many drinks have been crossed, all hell breaks loose.
•It'll start with comments on your appearance, simple incessant "you look beautiful"s spoken with dazed eyes...then it escalates to Danse pulling you into his lap where you're met with his obvious "intentions" prodding you in the ass, all while being held in a bear hug from a blushing, smiling Paladin who happens to look like a kicked puppy when you make him calm down with a drink of water. Don't worry, he might mope but he'll quit if you tell him to.
•Perks back up when you tell him it's time to go to bed...only to mope even more when he realizes that no, it isn't for sexy times. No worries, he'll be happy so long as you let him hold you..
•Is absolutely ashamed and horrified of his behavior when he wakes up and you tell him what went down. Probably will hide his face in his pillows and try to disappear. Swears he won’t drink again and make a fool of himself like that….will totally drink some more.
•Just be lucky he wasn’t feeling melancholic like a post BB Danse would.
Deacon:
(Stupid drunk..)
•Ever seen that one video of that guy busting through drywall like Kool-Aid Man? That's Deacon's level of maturity when properly intoxicated.
•No worries, Desdemona is going to bitch at him from the time he does something too stupid until he isn't even drunk anymore. Frankly, he deserves it too- he's destructive, reckless, and...well..hilarious, but that doesn't mean it's redeemable!
•He seems to perfectly remember all his antics, some he even reflects upon with a proud grin..until his hangover ends up making him wince in pain. Just...take care of him, there isn't any point in trying to scold him. Des has that covered anyways.
Gage:
(Emotional drunk)
•A drunk gage was both extremely rare because of his genuine hate for alcohol and also very shocking. Sure, one may assume that someone so rugged and tough like a raider- especially Gage- would have no issue handling his liquor....oh how wrong you could be...
•You weren't entirely sure what happened, much less where he got the idea, but somehow Gage got the absurd notion that you decided he wasn't good enough for you and you were going to just leave him behind. He'd keep it in for a while, slowly growing more quiet as he took practical gulps of his drink. That doesn't last.
•Eventually he starts to cry, silent tears pouring from his good eye. Whenever you actually notice, it's too late. Just pray no one else is around when this next part happens.
•All it takes is you coming to his side, placing a comforting hand on his back and he crumbles. He'll grab you and push his face into your chest and start sobbing, wailing incoherently as he begs you to not leave him.
•It might seem humorous, but it raised several questions.
•The morning after his outburst, you wake up extra early to present him with a half way decent breakfast in bed- extra grease on the food for good measure. Once he seems to be more coherent, you make sure to talk to him about his apparent fear of you not loving him...which brings him close to tears once again whenever you finally convince him that you do in fact love him and won't ever leave his side so long as he loves you back.
Hancock:
(Stealthy drunk)
•Unfortunately, the mayor of Goodneighbor doesn't really have any fun antics..well at least any that would point to him being intoxicated. Sorry.
Macready:
(Over indulging drunk)
•Mac is arguably the best one to get shit faced with, especially if you like drugs and food. Oh yeah, something about eating while intoxicated is irresistible to him. Think of it like munchies, but in Mac's case, five times as bad.
• After a couple drinks, Mac nonchalantly will reach into his pocket- gesturing for you to come close- before putting a cigarette in your mouth and lighting up- using your's to light his own. If you don't set a stopping point, the two of you will wake up down two packs, several empty containers of jet, and crumbs everywhere.
•When faced with the consequences of his gluttony, Mac will just sit there and whine as his stomach does cartwheels. That's punishment enough...
Maxson:
(Mr. Vomits-a-lot drunk)
•It takes a whole hell of a lot for Maxson to get shitfaced thanks to his rather strict habitual drinking. After all, it would be a strange day if you didn't see him knock a bottle of whisky out before finally turning in..which was kind of sad come to think of it..
•Nonetheless, he does occasionally push his limits when he's especially stressed and it's never pleasant when he does.
•It was sort of funny, in retrospect. One minute you and him were sitting on the flight deck together, casually talking whilst finishing off a bottle of shitty vodka (unknowing that he had already burned through countless bottles before meeting you) when suddenly Arthur started to look pale. It just kept getting worse until eventually he was frantically motioning for you to follow him as he ran to the railings, sticking his head over before throwing up whatever was on his stomach..sending it to a several hundred foot drop below.
•It's a good thing you held him, otherwise the brotherhood might've been short an elder and you short a partner.
•When confronted with his..let's say "overindulgence", he'll sort of look away and try to change the subject. It's probably best if you try to hide liquor for a while.
Nick:
(Doesn't drink....)
Old Longfellow:
With his age and experience? He's the same as Hancock.
Piper:
(Daredevil drunk)
•Hope you're sober, because if you aren't- there's a good chance you'll be spending the night in Diamond City Jail.
•Piper is reckless on a good day, putting alcohol with that in mass quantities and she's wild. Just hope you have strong will, because she sure as shit isn't going to back down easy.
•It's kind of funny, but her go to is to do crazy shit. Jump off the roof? Hold her cup. Want to vandalize the great green wall? Fuck yeah. Nothing beats the time she wasn't careful and threw a lit cigarette down Ann Codman's cleavage during a heated argument with her.
•She has no regrets either, so don't expect her to be remorseful in the morning whenever you tell her what she did. If anything, she'll just laugh next time she sees Ann.
Preston:
(Over thinking drunk)
•If it wasn't lowkey annoying, you'd probably think Preston's drunken neuroticism was hilarious. Not to be gotten wrong, but even sober, your love could be extremely insistent..mix his anxious attitude with liquor and you end up with a terrible night.
•You knew better than to let him have more than a couple beers, seeing as his tolerance wasn't exactly the best, and yet here you were. Preston pensively sitting at the bar beside you, rich eyes narrowed and focused on the liquid in his glass- his hands resting against his head.
•"I know you're dying to ask...." "Okay babe, since you brought it up...do you think putting electrical wire around our people's settlements would be a bad idea? It might closely resemble a prison but it's for their own good. Wait- shit, what about the kids? Oh god..."
•He may just sheepishly rub the back of his head and apologize in the morning..but he'll be quick to revisit some of the key points and ideas with you if you so much as give him a chance.
X6-88:
(Ridiculous drunk)
•It was only one time..thankfully.
•You, and your whole group of friends had to convince him to try it out- but once he started, he couldn't stop.
•This asshole would throw down drinks faster than Hancock..which was terrible considering his painfully low tolerance to alcohol.
•One thing goes to another and next thing you know, "The Wanderer" is playing in the background, X is singing and dancing like an idiot, and everyone is gathered around- terrified at what they were seeing. It's sort of like seeing a deathclaw do ballet- so, totally understandable.
•He dares you to bring it up later, dares you.

characters: miya atsumu x f!reader
genre/warnings: fluff, tiny snippet of angst and smut (please do skip over it if you are a minor), hair pulling, rough sex, okay even though it’s a tiny crumb of smut it’s a bit filthy, underage drinking (for some countries), i do not condone this behaviour please do not engage in underage drinking
words: 1.0k
summary: miya atsumu and the different ways he touched your hair throughout your relationship. alternatively, a collection of moments in your lives from age six to age seventy.
notes: mmOKAY i know this sounds super strange but pleaseee trust me it’s actually really sweet, and not at all weird even though this lowkey seems like some kink or fetish. also since we’re talking about hair here, i know my descriptions aren’t inclusive of all readers in this one, so forgive me!
Tumblr media
Age six: You sat in front of him in class and you came to school every day with your hair in bouncy, shining pigtails. They always dangled in front of him, looking very enticing. How could a boy resist? So, he grabbed one firmly in his hand, and yanked.
Age eleven: He had just gotten his ice cream cone from the stand when he stumbles over a pebble, causing him to lurch forward, accidentally getting some ice cream in your long locks. Uh oh. He frantically wipes at the mess with his napkin, attempting to clean the evidence before you noticed. He failed of course. Oh, you had noticed alright. He had no choice but to hand over the rest of his treat. You went home with sticky hair, but at least you had ice cream.
Age fifteen: You just experienced your first heartbreak. As you sobbed into his chest, Atsumu soothingly strokes the back of your head in consolation, wishing he could erase the pain. But he secretly thought that you were probably better off without that boy anyway. You deserved someone better. Someone like himself.
Age nineteen: The two of you were at a college party, releasing all the tension of exam season from your bodies. You definitely had a bit too much to drink, and obviously couldn’t hold your liquor as well as Atsumu. Consequently, you were presently knelt over the toilet bowl, emptying the contents of your stomach, which was mostly sugar and alcohol. Rookie mistake. He tsked as he held back your tangled tresses. “I told you to get food before coming. I’m taking you home after this. You’re going to have a nasty hangover tomorrow, you know.”
Age twenty-one: You finally confessed your feelings to each other. You’re currently at a ramen shop, on your first official date. Funnily enough, after going through all those men, you still ended up with the same boy you grew up with. As you leaned down to take a bite, he swept your hair over your shoulder so it doesn’t fall into the steaming soup.
Age twenty-two: Atsumu knocked on the door to your apartment, begging for forgiveness. You just had your first major fight. His hopeful eyes lit up as soon as he heard the lock click, but he frowned upon seeing your crumpled face. “Sweetheart, I’m so sorry, I said all those terrible things that I didn’t mean, I’m such an ass.” He took you into his arms and surrounded you in his comforting scent. “____, I don’t want to fight like this ever again. I love you.” You gazed up at him with watery eyes. “I love you too, ‘Tsumu. So much.” He wiped away your tears with his thumbs, tucked a lock of hair behind your ear, then caressed your face and kissed you deeply.
Age twenty-four: You finally moved in together. The air in your shared bedroom was unbearably hot, the bed creaked under your vigorous motion, and the headboard struck a continuous rhythm against the wall. He panted from behind you. “Shit, sweetheart, did you get even tighter since last time?” You heard him grunt as his rough hands gathered your hair into a messy ponytail, pulling you backwards to meet every thrust. You let out a lewd moan at the burning sensation on your scalp, loving the way it stung, getting lost in the pleasure. Your creaming pussy clenched around him as he quickened the pace, pounding into you impossibly fast, releasing a myriad of pretty sounds from your throat. “Fuck princess, just like that. Don’t get all shy on me now, let the neighbours hear your sweet voice. Give ‘em an unforgettable first impression, yeah?”
Age thirty: You relaxed under the hot stream of water as he kneaded your sore shoulders. Your belly was round and swollen at thirty-six weeks, and it’s become difficult to carry out simple tasks, such as showering. You purred as he lathered on the shampoo, massaging your head and washing away the oil and grime. “You’re so good to me, baby. I’m so lucky to have you.” “Trust me ____, I’m even more lucky.”
Age thirty-six: You and your husband were seated on a bench, watching your child run around in the playground. The abundant foliage of a hulking tree shielded you from the late autumn sun, and a mild breeze travelled across the park, twirling the leaves on each branch. One landed on the crown of your head, which Atsumu brushed away tenderly. You laid your head on his shoulder and sighed in happiness.
Age forty-two: The mellow glow of the sun filtered in through the blinds in your bedroom. Your child was downstairs enjoying breakfast while you got ready to drive them to school before work. You and Atsumu were in front of the bathroom mirror, brushing your teeth when you felt him collect your hair and loosely tie it back. “It wagh gettin’ into yer mouf,” he explained, through a mouth full of minty foam. You smiled at him fondly, finished brushing, and pecked him on the cheek before getting dressed.
Age fifty-three: You and Atsumu had just arrived home from the airport after sending your child off to their final semester of college. As you walked into the foyer, you glanced at the mirror in the hall, suddenly noticing that your silver hairs have grown in again. Initially, you only had a few strands, but they seemed to multiply every year. Later, you were settled into an armchair as Atsumu sifted through your roots, plucking out all the silver hairs he could find. When he completed his task, he placed a kiss on each of your temples and took your hands in his own. “You’re still the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.”
Age seventy: You were sitting in front of your vanity, observing your husband behind you as he combed your hair into a neat style. It was part of your morning routine; he would help you get ready before you went on your morning walk. “____, did I already say that I love you today?” You laughed softly and beamed at him. “Yes Atsumu, you did. And I love you too.”
Tumblr media
a/n: k why do i write about hair so much tbh?? also even though i read a healthy amount of smut, this is the first time i’ve ever written smut of any form and it’s probably a one-time thing…unless? akdjfhgd i’m kidding i’ll leave that to the experts until i’ve honed my smut writing skills ANYWAYS hope y’all find this enjoyable!

cherry flavored kisses - t.h
Tumblr media
pairing: tom holland x youtuber!reader
summary: tom and harrison try to do your makeup while answering questions to know ‘who knows you better’
warnings: swearing, a lot of dialogue
words: 3.2k
a/n: this is absolutely not my favorite writing, but i still quite like it so, here you go!! lol i really hope you guys enjoy it, i love writing this series (can we call it that?) and i have so many ideas for it :)) please, let me know if you like it and want more of these <33 i think that’s it for now, enjoy!!
Another day, another video to film. This time you weren’t alone though, you had your boyfriend Tom and one of your other best friends Harrison with you, to film a video you had been dying to.
You were finishing setting up your camera to start recording when you felt two strong arms wrap around your torso. “Tom, stop! I have to finish this!” You chuckled, already knowing the owner of those arms. “Couldn’t resist, you look good from the back.” Before the warning, Tom swatted your ass, causing you to let out a muffled scream, which got the attention of Harrison, who was previously on his phone.
“C’mon, you guys will seriously keep flirting with each other during the whole video?” Harrison huffed, tossing his phone away. “No, we’re not!” You assured your blonde friend, but Tom had a different idea. “Speak for yourself, love!” He smirked, happy to annoy his friend. Rolling his eyes, Harrison said, “I already regret accepting this!”
Once your equipment was ready, you called Tom and Harrison, who got settled in your bed, with you between the two. “You guys ready? Did you turn off your phones?” You asked, not wanting to have anything getting in the way of your filming. When both boys assured you they had, you relaxed, pressing the small record button on the remote on your hand.
“Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today I have two very special guests here with me. On my right side we have Tom Holland and on my left, Harrison Osterfield. I don’t think you’ve ever been officially to my channel before, Haz?” You asked Harrison, to which he responded, “No, I don’t think so! Hello everyone!” He said, flashing the camera an smile.
“Well, you guys are already familiar with Tom, so he doesn’t need any more introductions.” You sassed, laughing at his offended face. “Rude!” He said, before giving the camera a little wave. “Hi guys, it’s me again, Tom! I know, I know you guys have been dying to see me again, what can I say?” Your boyfriend let it out, taking complete control of your video.
“Okay, that’s enough, movie star! Can we actually start the video now?” You asked, Tom, letting out a laugh. “Yeah, yeah! Go ahead!” He rolled his eyes to the camera, but you could feel the small kick he gave your foot, wanting to make sure you knew it was all a joke. You smiled, and before you could say anything else, Harrison came through.
“What is the video about, by the way? ‘Cause, I don’t know if you guys know but we have absolutely no idea what we’re doing here.” The blonde said, pointing to Tom and himself. “Yes, they have actually no idea why they’re here.” You laughed, being met with worried looks from both of the boys. “I didn’t like that laugh,” Harrison exclaimed, being followed by Tom. “Should we be scared?” Asked your boyfriend, but you quickly shrugged them off.
“No, just shut up and let me tell them, and you, what you’d be doing. On today’s video...” you said, before getting the makeup box you had put together for this video, which was hiding under your bed. “You are going to be doing my makeup!” You exclaimed, laughing at the boy's surprised reactions.
“Haven’t you realized I’m not wearing any?” You asked, pointing to your bare face. “No! You know you look beautiful anyway, love!” Tom cooed, making your cheeks grow red. “Oh, shut up!” You rolled your eyes, flashing him a smile.
“I don’t like this!” Haz let it out, inspecting some of your makeup products. “Isn’t it fun?” You smirked, making him roll his blue eyes. “You’re kidding, right? How am I supposed to do this?” The blonde huffed. “Actually, this is a test to know if you watch my videos, cause you’ll have to recreate one of my looks.”
Tom and Harrison shared a look that could only be translated by the word fear. “You do makeup-related videos?” Tom asked, completely oblivious. “It was not a proper makeup tutorial, it was more like a get ready with me.” You smiled, trying to ease both of the boys' nerves. “Well, clearly you both haven’t been watching my videos, so it’s your fault you have no idea what to do.” You sassed, putting your tongue out.
“We’re fucked, mate!” Your boyfriend chuckled. “Don’t swear on my videos, Thomas!” You scolded him, slapping his arm. “Okay, so I’m gonna show a picture of the look you have to recreate but that’s the only help I’ll give. You can’t ask me anything related to makeup during the video, got it?” You questioned, to which they nodded. “Also…” before you could finish your sentence, Tom added, “There’s more?”
“Yeah, I’m going to be asking you questions about me while you do my makeup, to know which one of you knows me better.” You squealed, feeling the excitement in your veins. The boys didn’t seem to be so happy, especially Harrison, who claimed this was not fair, since Tom was your boyfriend, therefore know more about you.
“We’ve been friends for forever, Harrison! I bet there’s stuff you know that Tom doesn’t.” You said, getting an offended reaction from Tom. “Hey!” He protested, to which you rolled your eyes. “Can we start now, please? We’ve been here for 10 minutes already.” You pleaded, getting them to finally agree.
“Okay, where do you guys wanna start?” You asked, being met with confused glances. After a couple of seconds, you heard “Foundation!” and “Primer!”, all at once. “Yeah, primer! That’s exactly what I said!” Tom tried to cover it up but Harrison wasn’t having it. “Fuck off, Tom! I said it first!” Swatting the blonde's arm, you went back to scolding, “I told you two not to swear!”
While the boys started to choose between your selection of products, you took back your phone that was currently sitting on the bed, with the selfie you took with the look they had to recreate. “While you guys start on my face, I’ll ask the first question. What do I like more: sweet or salty food?” You asked, closing your eyes for Harrison to apply the primer on half of your face.
“Sweet!” Tom answered, squeezing some of your favorite primers on his hand, before applying it to your face. “Yeah, you’re like an ant. Always looking for crumbs of sugar.” Harrison responded, making you chuckle. “True, I have a very sweet tooth.” You smiled, before going to the next question. “What is one of my biggest fears?”
While they looked for a foundation, they answered, again at the same time. Tom said spiders, while Harrison said, clowns. “I mean, you’re both right! But if I had to choose it would probably be clowns.” You said, laughing at Harrison's little victory dance. “C’mon, you can even look at a spider, love. You always call me to get rid of them.” Tom protested. “Well, yes but I would rather have to kill a spider than a clown.” You tried to reason but ended up making the three of you burst out laughing.
When you finally recovered from your fit of laughter, the boys started with their foundation choices. “Wait, you only put your skin tone foundations here, right?” Tom asked, still trying to find the perfect one. “Yeah, I’m not that evil.” You laughed. “Can I use this to apply it?” Harrison asked, holding one of your beauty blenders. “What did I say, Haz? No makeup-related questions.” You smirked, hearing him groan.
“God, I hope this works!” By your side, Tom started spreading some of the foundations he had placed on the back of his hand. “Okay, next question! Am I an early bird or a night owl?” Harrison was quicker than Tom this time, “Night owl! She just doesn’t sleep. It’s ridiculous!” He complained, to which you scoffed. “I do sleep, but I’d rather stay awake until 3 am than having to wake up at 6 am.” You reasoned.
“Just admitted, love! You stay up ‘cause we have lots of fun in bed.” Tom winked, making your face grow red, and Harrison gag. “Seriously, Tom?! Ugh, disgusting!” The blonde exclaimed while you tried your best to calm your nerves. “You did not just say that!” Tom only shrugged, laughing at both of your faces.
“Moving on, what was the most embarrassing moment in my life? Oh no, I already regret that!” You said, scared about the answers you were gonna get. Tom laughed while trying very hard to blend your foundation with an eyeshadow brush. Great.
“The time you slipped and fell into the water fountain.” You instantly cringed, remembering the moment vividly in your head. “God, I hate that I told guys that!” You let out a groan, asking for Harrison’s answer. “I was gonna say when you walked in your underwear without realizing Tom was doing an Instagram live, but that's pretty good too.” Harrison laughed, making you blush at his words. “Oh my god, I had completely forgotten that!” You exclaimed, joining your friends in laughter.
“It’s okay, babe! You looked really good.” Tom stated, pecking your lips. You blushed, still getting flustered by his compliments. “Thank you!” Smiling, you kissed him back, before checking your face in one of your blushes to see how they were doing. “That’s actually not bad, good job, guys!” You high-fived them, laughing at their smug faces.
“What’s next, then?” You waited for an answer, which came from Tom this time. “Concealer?” He was so unsure of his answer that it ended up sounding more like a question. “I don’t know, is it?” You shrugged, glancing at Harrison. “I think so, all I know is after concealer, you have to contour,” Harrison stated, taking you by surprise.
“By your shocked reaction, I think were right.” Tom laughed, you and Harrison quickly joining him. “Okay, while you guys do that, I’m gonna ask some other questions. Ready?” When they both nodded, you continued. “What is my favorite time of the year?” Tom immediately answered, afraid Harrison would say it first. “Autumn!” Your boyfriend proudly said, while your friend's answer was “Christmas!”
“I do love Christmas but my favorite has to be autumn, it’s just the perfect temperature and the trees are all orange. It's beautiful! So, point for Tom!” Tom smirked, making Harrison roll his eyes. “Next one, what am I allergic to?” You asked, and that was the only question you weren’t sure they had the answer for.
Harrison looked at you as if that would give him the answer. “You don’t have any allergies.” He stated, to which you shook your head. “I have one.” At that, he stopped applying the concealer to your face, totally focused on his next answer. “I have no idea, Uhm, pollen?” The blonde tried, but he was wrong.
“Walnuts, she’s allergic to walnuts!” Tom triumphantly exclaimed, knowing he was right. “Realy?” Harrison asked, to which you nodded. “I had no idea, you know how dangerous that was? I could give you something with walnuts and kill you?” He inquired, making you laugh. “I wasn’t going to die, Haz! It just gives me bad itches.” You clarified, watching him nod.
When the boys moved on from concealing to contouring your face, that was when things started to go south. Tom chose a colorway too dark for your skin tone, while Harrison put so much on your face turned orange. “I’ll give you guys one tip, just ‘cause I don’t wanna look like a clown at the end of this video.” You told them, before explaining they could go back to the concealer to clean the mess they made.
Once everything seemed good, they moved on to blush and highlighters, and you to your next question. “How many tattoos do I have?” You waited for the answers, while the boys kept painting your face. “Two, your star sign on your finger, and a butterfly on your ankle you did when you were 16 and regret it since then.” Harrison proudly said, making you wince at his words. “Ouch, you didn’t have to go that hard, Haz!” You smirked, looking expectantly at your boyfriend.
“What’s your answer, Tom?” Taking a break from your face, he cleared his throat before answering. “Three, the two Harrison said and a rose on your hip.” The brunette smiled knowing that, once again, he was the only one right. “Another point to Tom!” You exclaimed while Harrison looked at you like you had two heads.
“See? I said this game wasn’t fair! How could I know you have a tattoo on your hip?” The blonde protested, making your roll your eyes. “That’s not an excuse! The tattoo is visible when I wear a bikini, Haz!” You tried to reason, but clearly, he wasn’t having it. “Oh, sorry I don’t pay closer attention to your body!” Harrison mocked, sticking his tongue out when you flipped him off.
“The rose is my favorite one,” Tom stated, a smile wide on his face. “I wonder why!” Harrison exclaimed, and this time, it was Tom who flipped him off. “Okay, you guys finished with the skin, then?” You inquired, taking another look at yourself in the mirror. Overall, it wasn’t bad. There were a couple of patches here and there where they messed up the contour but, to your surprise, it actually looked decent.
“Now, you guys are lucky I chose a look with no eyeshadow.” You stated, getting excited about the next part. “But you’ll have to put false lashes on.” You smirked, knowing what was to come. “And you call that lucky?” Harrison inquired, making you laugh. “C’mon, it’s not that hard! Here, I’ll show you how to do it.” Taking the lashes from the box, you started to show them how to apply the glue and carefully place the falsies the closest to your real lashes as possible.
“God, I’m sweating!” Tom breathed, making you laugh. “I’ll close my eyes for you to apply, ok?” The boys nodded, and once your eyes were closed, you could hear their nervous breathing at each side of your face, making you chuckle. “This is stressing me out massively. You’re buying dinner tonight for making us go through this.” Your blonde friend sighed. “Oh, shut up! I do this every day!” You flipped him off, still unmoving.
Once you felt they stopped moving, you asked if you could open your eyes. Deciding to do a little prank, you pretended to open them, only for it to be stuck. “Oh my god, I think you guys glued my eyes shut!” You cried, already dying to watch his reactions. “What? We could do that?” Tom exclaimed, completely freaked out. “y/n, look at me!” Harrison asked, and you felt his hands going to your eyes.
“It hurts!” You whined, “trying” to get your eyes open. “Fuck, what do we do now?” Tom practically yelled, making you laugh, which obviously confused them. Opening your eyes, you saw two shocked faces, staring with wide eyes, right back at you. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I had to!” You laughed, feeling tears starting to form in your eyes.
“I can’t believe you did this!” Tom breathed, while Harrison shoved you harshly, absolutely pissed. “You fucking asshole! I’m never filming with you again!” He stated while you tried hard to recover from your fit of laughter. “I’m sorry!” You apologized, doing your best puppy dog eyes for them.
“My hands are shaking!” Tom informed, showing his hands that were in fact, shaking. “Baby, I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you’d believe it.” You said, guilt coating your words this time. Tom assured you it was okay, even saying he did find the prank kinda funny in the end. Harrison did not agree with your boyfriend, pretending to be mad for the rest of the video, even though the corners of his mouth gave him away.
Seeing you guys were filming for about forty-five minutes already, you decided to not even check the boy's work with the lashes, going straight to the last question, while they applied lipstick. “Okay, so here’s the final question, what is my body count?” You smirked, Tom’s expression completely shifting.
“Seriously? That is the question?” He inquired, raising his eyebrows. “Hey, they suggested the question.” You defended yourself, pointing to the recording camera. “I’ll go first then, let me see…” Your blonde friend said while pretending to count with both of his hands, over and over again. “Fuck off!” You flipped him off, watching his smirk grow in size.
“I’m kidding! But uhm, I would say five?!” Raising your eyebrows, you nodded, before turning back to Tom. “What’s your answer, sir?” You playfully asked. “Six, the answer is six!” He rolled his eyes, annoyed with the question. “Oh, shit! I’m so stupid! I forgot to count Tom!” Harrison face palmed himself, making you burst out laughing.
“Yeah, sorry to break this to you, mate but we already banged,” Tom smirked, shooting you a wink. “Tom!” You scolded him, while Harrison pretended to gag. “Gross! I didn’t need the image of my two best friends fucking in my head.” Harrison exclaimed, making your cheeks grow red. “Okay, that’s enough! Are you guys finished with the makeup?” You quickly asked, dying to change the subject. “Yeah, yeah!” Harrison murmured, while Tom smirked.
Taking your blush, you finally checked yourself in the mirror to see the finished look. “Oh my god, it actually looks good, guys! Good job!” You exclaimed, shamelessly fixing your lashes. “Well, I’m not gonna be the one judging who did it better, so now it’s with you guys. Who do you think did better, Tom or Harrison?” You asked, showing both sides of your face to the camera.
“About the questions, I’m pretty sure Tom won.” You stated, much to Harrison’s dismay. “Of course he did!” The blonde rolled his eyes, making you laugh. “Good luck next time, mate!” Tom teased, a smirk sitting proudly on his face. “Stop it, you two! Now say goodbye before I finally end this almost hour-long video.” You groaned, dreading the moment you’d have to edit the video.
“Bye everyone, thank you for watching! Please, vote for me!” Tom smiled, giving the camera an adorable little wave. “Mate, you already won the questionnaire, let me have this one,” Harrison whined, sounding like a child. When he said goodbye, you finished your outro, before finally stopping recording.
“We did it! Thank you, guys! It was a little chaotic but you did a great job.” You smiled proudly. “Of course, anything for my girl,” Tom stated, getting up from his spot on the bed, stopping right by your side. With both hands on your hips, he closes the distance between you, landing a soft kiss on your lips. “Okay, I had enough of you two for today. Bye!” Harison exclaimed, before also getting up, leaving your bedroom.
“Why do you taste like cherry?” Tom asked as soon as he let go of your lips. “Oh, it’s probably the lipgloss. It’s cherry-flavored!” You explained, asking if he liked it since his eyes kept trailed to your lips. “Hum, I love it!” Your boyfriend smiled, and this time it was you who closed the distance, giving him another one of your cherry-flavored kisses.

it's just part of the job
This is a once shot based on a request by @laurentrvn! I really loved the idea and tried to stick as closely to the prompt given, so I hope you enjoy!
Ship: Tom Holland x Reader
Word Count: 1248
Warnings: can't think of any, it's pure fluff
><
You were exhausted, to be frank.
It was just past 2 a.m. in yours and Tom's London home as he prepared for a late night TV interview based in Los Angeles.
The show was taping his part at 8 p.m. their time, which converted to 3 a.m. yours during the summer months.
Normally it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.
You were so proud of Tom for his upcoming film, but you were actually in the middle of shooting your own movie in the city, something you'd been busy doing all day long.
Crazy hours are just part of the job, though.
The interview wouldn't be long, so you'd agreed to stay up with your boyfriend and make sure he was well styled so he wouldn't have to call other people to the house in those early morning hours.
Thankfully, you were going to have a two-day work break anyways as your film's scripts went through some minor rewrites.
Because of the ridiculous hour, your stomach had decided that 2 a.m. was the perfect time for a snack, so while Tom dressed you had decided to scrounge around the kitchen until you found something good.
You brewed some tea in the meanwhile, both you and Tom deciding that this wasn't an ideal time for coffee, especially considering you hadn't slept in at least 20 hours.
You walked into the bedroom, a small tray in hand with the tea and snacks stacked carefully.
"Hey I got some fruit and some cookies but let me know if- woooow..." you said, brows raised once you saw Tom's outfit in the reflection of his full-length mirror.
He'd chosen to dress in a shirt you loved, a button up with thick vertical stripes tucked into some grey slacks, an outfit which was reminiscent of 70s fashion.
You had to laugh at the fact that he was even wearing pants, though. Unfortunately he'd learned the hard way what it was like to forgo pants on a zoom meeting, so he swore to wear them for any video call from now own.
Who knew, he might even be asked about it in his interview tonight after his boxers had previously gone viral.
Tom turned and smiled at your pleased reaction, walking towards you. After you set the tray down, he snaked an arm around your waist and planted one kiss on your forehead and another to your lips.
"Think I look good, eh?"
"I'm loving the fit, but we need to put a little makeup on you," you said, shimmying from his grip and disappearing into the bathroom to find the foundation his stylist had explicitly told him to use tonight.
When you returned, he was indulging in a chocolate chip cookie, the crumbs all over his mouth.
"While you finish that, I'm going to start on your forehead," you explained as you began dabbing a beauty blender along his hairline. After a few minutes, he had an even layer painted over his face and neck.
"Am I done now? I'm supposed to log onto the call soon," he pouted.
"Almost, I just need to swipe on a little blush and neutral eyeshadow and you'll be all set," you answered, focused on picking out a blush color that would look natural on camera.
"I don't even get why I need makeup. They're going to be seeing me from my shitty computer camera and office lights. I mean look at you. You're not wearing makeup and you look great!"
You paused brushing a light rouge over one cheek to give him a half lidded look.
"Nice try, but we both know I look like I was run over with a truck," you joked.
It's not like you were even trying to sound self-deprecating, it's just that you had been awake far too long after having done a physically taxing shoot all day.
The second you'd gotten home, you'd showered and gotten rid of any trace of makeup, leaving you bare faced with damp hair that wet the collar of your old t-shirt.
"Well I think you look beautiful," Tom reiterated, kissing your forehead again as you went to grab eyeshadow.
You hummed in response and quickly brushed a light tan color over his eyelids to complete his look.
"Okay, all done. You did a good job on you hair," you commented, still instinctively reaching up to reposition a curl.
"Well that's perfect, because I need to get logged on. Why don't you relax and I'll come get you when I'm done, yeah?"
You nodded and let him go, watching him head across the hall as you sat at your vanity, sipping on the tea you'd made for yourself.
><
Though it took almost 30 minutes of sound checking and ensuring a good connection, Tom's interview had only lasted about 10 minutes.
When asked about the time in London, he'd only had one answer:
"It's just part of the job"
As expected, he'd had to show off his pants and make sure everyone knew he was wearing them despite the wee morning hour. Also unsurprisingly, he'd been asked where y/n was, explaining her taxing day and praising her for helping him get ready.
Once he closed up his laptop, he got up and turned out the office light. He then untucked and unbuttoned his shirt, ready to put on some comfy clothes and get in bed.
"Hey I'm don-" he paused and stopped in the doorway, grinning.
In the 40 or so minutes since he'd left you, you'd fallen asleep with your head down on the vanity, a half-eaten cookie in hand and your hair splayed all around the desk.
"Darling, are you awake?" he asked in a whisper, his hand gently placed over your shoulder, to make sure that you weren't just resting your head.
When he got no response, he knew you were actually asleep.
Tom quickly removed his unbuttoned shirt and exchanged his slacks for sweatpants. He also haphazardly took a makeup wipe to his face, knowing that leaving makeup on his face would cause it to break out.
Once he was cleaned up, he came back into the room to take care of you, starting by removing the cookie from your hand and placing it back on the tray.
He sat you up, your head rolling backwards until his hand could catch it. Thankfully you hadn't scooted the seat forward at all, so all he had to do was hook an arm below your knees and the other around your back.
He stood with a little huff, your dead weight no match for his strength.
Though you were asleep, your head instinctively turned into his chest as he transferred you a few feet and laid you gently on the bed where he had folded back the covers.
The missing warmth of his skin awoke you as he shuffled to the other side of the bed, so you stretched and yawned.
"Sorry that I woke you love, I was trying to be gentle," he whispered, sliding onto the mattress as you rolled to face him, still exhausted.
"It's okay. How did it go?"
"Amazing of course," he punctuated the statement with a forehead kiss. "He asked what you were up to."
"Hmm. What did you say?" you asked, cozying up to Tom.
"I told him you were out partying while I worked all day, as usual," he joked.
You snorted, not having the energy to fully laugh at his joke.
"It's just part of the job," you retorted. You were starting to slip away again.
"G'night, Tom. Love you," you slurred hazily.
"Good night, darling. I love you, too."

A/N: Ugh this was so cute are you kidding me??? Pretty much all the credit goes to @laurentrvn like I said before. I was given pretty much the backbone of this fic and just filled in the missing pieces, so I hope it's what you were imagining with this!
Thanks for reading!

Fix’er Upper Pt. 5
Tumblr media
Pairing: Frankie Morales x F!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of past abusive relationship, swearing, past drug use, alcohol
Word Count: 1.8k
Notes:
Parts ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR
Your injury, and consequential recovery time, couldn’t have come at a better time. The harvest was done and the apples had to rest before being pressed, which meant Frankie was now free to start working on your home. The work didn’t often require more than two hands so the days found you doing menial tasks being his gopher.
“You know,” Frankie had had to explain to you, “Go’fer this, go’fer that.”
This mainly consisted of you passing him tools while he was swearing under his breath in the attic, or groaning after rapping his knuckles under the sink, or white-faced and clinging to the weathervane on the roof.
You had discovered Frankie’s sweet tooth on the first day of renovations, not noticing until after he’d left for the day that more than half the cookies you’d baked that morning were already gone. Making sure he was kept happy, you had a new treat ready for when he walked in the door.
He was a coffee drinker though, and while you owned a coffee press you had never actually used it yourself, preferring tea leaves for your dose of caffeine. You’d tried, the first morning, to make a cup for him. You even googled How to Make a Cup of Coffee? to make sure you didn’t fuck it up.
You could laugh about it now, but the look on Frankie’s face after he’d taken his first sip made you worry you had poisoned him. He had spat the black sludge out and handed you back the mug with a look of bewildered disgust. Apparently, you needed to grind the beans first, who knew?
An efficient, if not quite comfortable, rhythm had been forged between the two of you over the past week and a half. Frankie would arrive at nine in the morning, scarf down half a dozen treats while discussing the day’s projects. You would run to town in his truck (yours was still at the autobody shop awaiting parts) and buy any supplies that would be needed while he set up the worksites and organized the tools that would be required.
You had added popping into the local café for a large coffee for Frankie and a red rooibos latte with almond milk for yourself. The first couple of days you had bought him a brownie too but stopped after he’d only half-finished the first one and mumbled through the crumbs in his mouth that yours were better. It only took you three days before the owner had your order ready for you before you even walked in the door, five days before you noticed the sidelong glances the little old ladies were giving each other as you walked out.
Small towns, you thought to yourself, rolling your eyes, had the unique benefit and downfall of everyone knowing everyone else’s business. They’d quit with the hardly-concealed smirks if they knew how awkward working with Frankie was becoming.
Tumblr media
You had been sure, in the immediate aftermath of waking up in Frankie’s arms while his truck sat in your driveway, that he was never going to speak to you again. The two of you and hopped out and began explaining away whatever conclusions Jacquie and Mark had made. Then Frankie, without even looking in your general direction, told Jacquie to get you inside and have your wrist looked at.
To his credit, he had taken care of everything regarding your truck for you. The tow truck came and hauled it to the yard, Frankie had commandeered the inspection report and, after calling them out on trying to swindle you into buying unnecessary parts, had ordered what was needed and paid.
You had, naturally, argued against this but you both knew you weren’t in a position to afford it. Frankie shut down your arguments gracefully, and broke his apparent vow of silence, with a gruff “I’m just doing it so I can drive my damn truck without you changing the radio station.” The absolute charmer.
It was your damn house, though, so you decided you'd talk as much as you wanted and it would be up to him to interact. Either that or you had music blaring from the radio, never playing his favourite country station purely out of spite.
Never quite sure if he was listening or not, you rambled on about anything and everything. You explained your vision for the house and the plans you had for a greenhouse in the yard. Memories from your childhood were described in great detail, as were embarrassing stories from your year in college. Baking tips, waxing poetic about your love for sunflowers, interesting animal facts, you'd even downloaded a Word of the Day App and made a game of fitting the words into your daily uninterrupted monologues.
Tumblr media
It took three days for Frankie to break.
You had been reminiscing about your trip to Disneyland as a child when he abruptly cut in, voice muffled due to the nails being held between his lips.
"You never talk about it."
You assumed he was referring to the little all-day nap you’d shared in his truck, as it had yet to be spoken of, but were taken aback by the slight accusatory tone.
"Talk about what?"
He took so long to reply, you started to think that he had interrupted purely to shut you up. The silence demanded an explanation though, so you kept your mouth shut and waited.
Clambering down from the attic, where he had been strengthening the trusses throughout the sagging section of roof, Frankie pinned you with his gaze and softly repeated himself.
"You never talk about it. The time in your life when you were married." He must have seen your hackles rise because he quickly set down the hammer and held his hands up in a placating wave.
"You still haven't answered my question about being in the army," was your quick response, finished with an ever-so-mature, "so there."
With a resigned sigh, Frankie twisted his hat around backward and scrubbed his hands across his face. "Come on" -waving you towards the patio doors- "these kinds of conversations require fresh air and a drink."
Reluctantly you followed him outside but rather than sinking down onto the porch swing you opted to lean against the post facing it. Opening two ciders, which you now had free access to, you handed one to Frankie and watched him over the top of the bottle.
Half of your drink was gone and your mind had wandered to greenhouse and flower garden placement before Frankie spoke again. His voice low and quiet catching you by surprise.
"Yeah," he broke the silence with another ragged sigh, "I, uh, I served. Started in the Air Force, worked my way up to Special Tactics Squadron. Made enough noise there to get recruited to Delta Force."
"Oh, fuck," your exclamation was soft with shock "you've seen some shit then." Blast your runaway mouth and its inability to wait for your brain to catch up before blurting out your inner thoughts. "I'm sorry!-"
"No, it's okay" Frankie interrupted, trying to reassure you and remove the horrified look that had come across your face.
"No, no, that was totally uncalled for. Brad, my um, my husband, he was a Marine. He hated talking about it, said no one liked talking about it. I should have known."
"It's not that," Frankie reassured you again, "You were the first person to ever ask me about it, in all the time I've lived here. Just took me by surprise."
Leaning over in the swing, Frankie pulled out his wallet from his back pocket and handed you a photo from inside it. Five men beamed up at you. You could recognize them from a few of the photos that had rested on Frankie's mantle, they looked older in this one.
"Tell me about them?" you asked, knowing that most of the request was due to curiosity but a small part of you hoped that if you kept him talking you could avoid the subject of your marriage.
The sun was beginning to set and you'd long moved inside to eat dinner by the time Frankie was done sharing. It must have been cathartic, you mused, for him to bare this much about himself. He had never looked more relaxed in all the time you'd known him, which wasn't saying much and it could just as easily been due to the amount of alcohol thrumming through his system.
The room fell into a companionable silence, each of you digesting the information that had been revealed. You were in awe of the fact that, despite the life of violence he had witnessed, Frankie still maintained his humanity. Even after a messy divorce and lost custody battle, Frankie continued to choose the path of healing. He was clean, was fighting for shared custody of his daughter again, running his own business, and still had found time to endear himself into the town's hearts.
Frankie was, for all his sharp edges and gruff words, a sweetheart.
It put into stark comparison how Brad had reacted to the lemons life had served him. Born into an upper-middle-class home, the only son, doted on by his parents, Brad had been raised into a life where every door was open to him. Despite this, or maybe because of it, he had grown hateful of those weaker than him. He was controlling but had just the right amount of charm to pass it off as caring.
"I've met men like that,"
You nearly jumped out of your skin from surprise. Looking at Frankie with wide-eyed shock you wondered again what the hell was in the cider. This was the second time you'd poured your heart out to a virtual stranger, but this time you hadn't even realized you'd started speaking your thoughts aloud.
Squaring your shoulders and holding Frankie's gaze you continued, almost challenging him to find someone worse than Brad had been.
"He made me quit college because he said he wanted to start a family. Then berated me and acted like it was all my fault every time the pregnancy test came back negative. You know what that asshole did?" Tears were threatening to fall but you held on to Frankie's gaze, "He had gotten a vasectomy months earlier. I didn't find out about it until after he died; going through paperwork that had been stored in his desk."
Tumblr media
Frankie was up on his feet now, pacing around the kitchen island, too distraught to keep still. How could anyone be so cruel? Let alone be so cruel to someone as sweet and pure as you. He hated seeing you cry but knowing you weren't receptive to people being in your personal space, wasn't sure how to comfort you.
Acting on pure instinct he grabbed the kettle and started preparing you some tea, not allowing himself to ruminate how he knew which flavour you preferred. Setting your favourite pottery mug in front of you, along with the little honey pot, he also decided to grab the fluffy throw blanket off your couch.
"I get it now," he thought to himself offhandedly, "why women have so many fuckin' blankets and pillows in every room."
Placing the throw around your shoulders he was preparing to say goodnight and let you have some peace but was stilled by your hand reaching up and covering his.
"Please. Stay."

Glancing over at the photo that laid on your night stand, a deep feeling of anger and resentment began to reside in the back of your mind. Sitting up, you reached over and grabbed the photo. It had been taken a long time ago; specifically when you had last seen your family. Your last birthday before the Devildom.
The picture consisted of your two younger brothers, yourself, your mom, and your dad. You always seemed to smile when you saw the way your brothers had wrapped their arms around you, seemingly begging for you to stay. However, this time when you looked at the photo, you couldn’t hide the distinct frown that overcame your features.
It had now been 9 months since you came to the Devildom and it pained you to be away from the ones you loved for so long. Even if you had found more people to love around you, you couldn’t help the feelings of homesickness and resentment that resided within you.
Feeling a deep sense of dread, you found yourself aimlessly wandering the halls. Whenever you felt homesick, you usually went to find the brothers and listen to their sibling bickering; it reminded you of your own brothers and made you feel like not so much had changed.
This time, instead of finding the brothers engaging in a hopeless argument with no winner, you found an upsetting scene before you. In this situation, there were 6 winners and 1 particular loser: Mammon. You couldn’t believe what you were watching.
Standing there, taking in the scene, your eyes flickered between all of the brothers in disbelief. The first thing that had caught your eye was the dangling second eldest brother that hang from the ceiling of the stairwell. Beside him, the eldest brother winded up his arm, preparing to once again hit his younger sibling with the shiny, black paddle that glimmered in the dim lighting.
Once the paddle struck, you heard a distinct chuckle from your right. This is when you had seen Satan and Asmo kneeling on the ground below Mammon, laughing at his tear-stained face as he couldn’t stop himself from breaking down in front of his brothers. One thing you did not expect to see, however, was Beel, Belphie, and Levi standing in the back, smirking and laughing to themselves as they leaned against the stair railing. This is what brought you over the edge.
Lucifer winds his arm back up again, Mammon’s crys growing louder. “Please! It wasn’t me! I swear! Please! I cant take it anymore, ya raging psycho!!” He closed his eyes tightly, the fear evident on his face as his tears fall to the floor beneath him.
Mere seconds before solid wood met skin, you furiously stepped in between Lucifer and Mammon, shielding the brother. Firmly, with no fear, you demanded, “Stop this nonsense.”
None of the brothers had expected this. You had teased Mammon just as much as anyone else; it made no sense for you to step in. But you did and they wanted to know why. All of the 6 brothers straightened their backs, tensing up at the fury radiating off of you as they awaited an explanation. “What..is the matter with you all?!” Full of anger and disgust, you bitterly demanded an explanation.
“What’s the matter with us?! What’s the matter with you?!” Asmo chirped as he rose from his knees. “This Jackass took my brand new limited edition red peppermint scented Devildom lipstick!” With this, he pointed an accusatory finger at Mammon, raising his eyebrows, waiting for you to defend his thief of a brother.
With this ridiculous accusation, you crossed your arms. Calm and steadily, you rose to the challenge Asmo had thrown at you. “It’s behind the bathroom sink. It rolled off the counter and got stuck there while we were gossiping in the bathroom this morning while you got ready. You said you would get it later. I guess you must’ve forgotten.”
The cold stare you gave Asmo spoke paragraphs. He hesitantly lowered his arm, admitting defeat. “Would any more of you like to accuse your brother of anything else?” In shame, 5 of the demon brothers before you not only lowered their heads in shame, but slightly shook their heads no as well. “Then we’ll be on our way then. Beel, untie the end of the rope and let Mammon down. Now.”
Beel does as you say, no retort to be heard. Once he was lowered onto the floor, you strode over to Mammon, beginning to untie the rope that covered his body. In response, Lucifer spoke up, “Why are you defending this scoundrel?” Furious and even more upset than before, you whirled around, leaving Mammon’s hand free to finish untying himself.
“That ‘scoundrel’ is your little brother, Lucifer! I would’ve thought that you out of everyone here would’ve known the importance of being a big brother. Your job is to protect and love him!! Not perform public beatings as amusement!!” As much as Satan loved watching you blow up at Lucifer, he was as equally concerned for you and the emotions you were feeling.
Taking a step forward, Satan held his hand out and gently questioned, “MC, why are you so upset about this? We’ve done this a million times before.” The look of concern on his face made your stomach twirl. The lack of respect Satan had for his own flesh and blood compared to the admiration he showed a random human being was devastating.
“That’s exactly what the problem is. You’re all so caught up in your own bullshit that you decide to spontaneously throw it on Mammon without acknowledging the consequences and pain that comes as a result. It’s absolutely disgusting and makes me feel repulsed.” You hesitated for a moment before seething the harsh words on your mind. “If I was back home, I would protect and love my brothers, no matter the cost. You all are pathetic excuses for brothers.”
Mammon, finally having enough with all he had heard, lightly grasped your hand, forcing you to look away from the demons in front of you. “C’mere. It’s ‘kay.” You soon felt yourself being embraced by Mammon, his strong arm holding your head against his chest. It hadn’t been until you felt the wetness on Mammon’s shirt that you realized that you’d have been crying. Feeling utterly hopeless, you let out a sob.
After a few moments of complete silence, you gently double-tapped Mammon’s shoulder blade, letting him know that you were okay now. Once free of his hold, you straighten your back, closed your eyes, and calmed yourself with a deep sight. Having regained your composure, you whirled around to face the monsters in front of you with a gentle smile.
“Being that you’re the reason I’m here in the first place, Lucifer; I wish to not speak with you for the remainder of my stay here at the Devildom.” With these words, all that could be heard was the sound of leather gloves tightening around the wooden paddle in Lucifer’s hand in desperation. “I also wish the privilege to go see my family whenever I ask, no matter what you’re doing.” The scowl on Lucifer’s face deepened. “Because I actually care for my brothers, afterall.”
The room had become so silent that the sound of a single crumb dropping to the floor could be heard. “Is that understood, Lucifer?” Your eyes bore into Lucifer’s, challenging him to protest. With no reply given, you giddly turned around and placed your hand on Mammon’s chest, urging him to leave. “Great! Then we’ll be on our way then!”
Confused and unnerved, all of the remaining six brothers could do was watch you start to walk away. You, however, decided to stop in your tracks. Back still turned to the demons, you coldly stated, “If I ever find any of you taking advantage of or abusing the brotherly bond you’re able to share with each other ever again: I won’t think twice before I go before Lord Diavolo and wish for my return to the human world.”
Having made your case extremely clear, you began walking again. There was one last thing you had to say, however. “You’ll do well to remember this incident the next time you even think of stealing an innocent human away from their life again.”

"God Bless Oil"
When you slept, you dreamed of Wanda, the best sleep you have had in many weeks. When you opened your eyes again, it was morning. And judging by the noise in the camp, everyone was already up. It took you a moment to remember that you were going to rob a train today.
- Hey sleepyhead, you need to hurry up. - Nat said as she entered your tent, you were getting up, and frowned as you watched her walk toward your trunk, clearly looking for something.
- Good morning! - you said, stretching. - What are you looking for?
- Socks.
You laughed, and reached out to the space between the corner of your bed, where you began to hide your socks precisely because Natasha was in the habit of stealing them. You held out a pair to her, and she made an expression pretending to be offended by your hiding place. She sat down beside you on the bed, throwing the boots she was carrying on the floor.
- You look happy. - She commented as she put on her socks. You shrugged your shoulders, trying to cover it up. She laughed. - No way, sis. Whats the deal with that smirk?
You got out of bed, laughing lightly as your cheeks flushed. You were about to tell her what happened, but Pietro stumbled into your room, looking excited as he buttoned his shirt.
- Does anyone have a little bit of hair pomade? My hair is a disaster today. - He comments, causing Nat to frown.
- Are you trying to look attractive for a robbery? - She hits back, he shrugs.
- I am already attractive. I just wanted to look more presentable.
You and Nat laugh at the comment, and you push him out of the tent, informing him that he had used up all of your supply, but that Thor would probably have some hair pomade.
Nat finished putting on her boots and approached you.
- We'll talk later, young lady.  - She warned you with a smile, before leaving.
You rolled your eyes with amusement, walking towards your trunk in search of clothes more suitable for a robbery.
Tucking your hat on your head, you walked towards the main campfire, where most of the gang members were having their coffees. You exchanged a glance with Wanda, smiling shyly at her as you picked up some bread from the supply wagon, she smiled back at you tenderly.
- Attention everyone! - Steve announced, standing in front of his own tent, where everyone could see him. - I hope everyone rested well tonight. - He paused to check his watch. - We'll be leaving in a few minutes, so finish your coffee, and get your weapons from the wagon with Bucky. If you have anything else to pick up, hurry up!
Pietro imitated an army reference as Nat shouted "Yes, Captain" drawing laughter from everyone. Steve also smiled as he signaled with his fingers that he was "keeping an eye" on the mischief of the two.
You wiped the bread crumbs off your clothes before walking towards the ammunition wagon, joining the small line to get the guns. Bucky smiled at you when it was your turn, and handed you a springfield rifle, at which you looked at him in surprise.
- I thought I was going to get a Lancaster. - You commented but Bucky made a sound with his mouth of disagreement, writing something down in his small notebook before looking at you.
- We lost almost all of them in the fire. And besides, I thought you'd be fine with your two revolvers.
You shrugged, thanking him for the gun before leaving the line. You slung the rifle over your back, and walked toward the entrance to the camp, where Steve was already waiting for the others beside Peggy.
- Everything okay? - He asked as soon as you reached him, and you smiled and nodded your agreement.
While you were fixing the Knight's saddle, the others were joining you.
Nat tipped your hat jokingly as she passed you, heading for her own horse. You were about to give her a poorly crafted reply, but you spotted Wanda and Pietro walking to the area, and the answer died in your throat. You looked away quickly, mounting Knight.
When everyone arrived, Steve mounted on his brown sorrel before speaking:
- That's it, folks. I wish us all to ride safely. - He spoke in a serious tone, assuming a posture of leadership. - Take care of each other out there.
Everyone nodded in agreement, and you watched Peggy lead the way for her group. You turned your head to the side, only to watch Nat signal the way your group should go.
You would like to say that you rode in silence, but as soon as you were within a few yards of the camp, Pietro's out-of-tune singing filled your ears. You and the girls laughed, but he continued singing at full volume.
- Good Lord! - Nat grumbled, but soon Monica joined in the singing. And Nat laughed before joining in their song.
- I got a girl in Valentine likes to drink that fancy wine. - sang Pietro accompanied by Nat and Monica, while you and Wanda laughed at the lack of rhythm.
The ride was a mixture of laughter and singing, but as you approached the meeting place, the mood changed quite a bit, and you fell silent. You covered your face with the mask, lingering your gaze on Wanda's masked face.
Nat signaled that you had reached the place where you, Pietro and Wanda would be staying to let her know that the train was moving, and you held out your hand to her, giving her a warm handshake before she rode off with Monica. You tried to swallow your nervousness.
- Are you ready for this, girls? - Pietro tried to look nonchalant, but his gaze showed his nervousness. You exchanged a look with Wanda before nodding.
- It's not the first time we've stolen a train. - You joked, but you couldn't see your friends' smiles because of the mask.
- I bet I can do better shooting than you. - Pietro exclaimed after a moment, making you laugh. - Are you doubting me?
- Please, Pietro. We both know that Wanda is going to hit a lot more shots than both of us put together. - You declared, and Pietro laughed, poking his sister in the ribs, who just shrugged with a smug look.
- Don't you ever stop moving? - complained Wanda after a moment, you observed Pietro almost hanging off the horse, trying to fuss with the aforge.
- I'm usually the one who's driving. - He retorts, and Wanda rolls her eyes.
- If you try to ride Hex, he'll knock you down in a second. - You say ironically, Wanda nods in agreement, but Pietro just shrugs.
- Wouldn't I have some kind of twin advantage? - he joked. - Maybe he trusts me to tame him.
- Pietro, shut up. - Wanda said, and you laughed, thinking it was a joke. But then you noticed the redhead's raised eyebrows, and looked straight ahead. Pietro spoke again, and then you asked him to shut up. An explosion noise was heard in the distance afterwards.
- What the fuck was that? - Pietro exclaimed, and you advanced with Knight toward the train tracks.
- Stay here, okay? - You say, getting ready to ride. - I'll go investigate.
- What, no way! - Wanda exclaimed, but you heard a second explosion. Feeling your chest fill with concern, you turned around one last time before leaving.
- Just stick to the plan, okay? I just need to make sure that Steve is okay.
And you rode at high speed in the direction the train was supposed to come. It didn't take long before you spotted the oil fields, startled by the black smoke that was visible in the sky. As you got closer, you could hear the sound of gunfire, and then you came down the small hill and could see the conflict.
You couldn't tell where all those men had come from, but noticing their green uniforms, you identified them as O'Driscoll. It was easy to understand that they had decided to attack the factory after all. You noticed the black carriages that belonged to Howard Stark, completely surrounded by guards, but your gaze was searching for Steve.
You were startled when Wanda suddenly appeared riding beside you.
- Shit, girl, you scared the hell out of me! - You shouted as you rode into the conflict.
- I can't believe you actually thought I was going to let you fight alone. - She said in a tone of mixed seriousness and teasing, and you rolled your eyes in mock amusement.
Then you identified Peggy, still mounted, shooting at what you imagined to be the factory guards.
- Steve! Steve! - she shouted, and you felt your chest sink. You couldn't see him in the confusion either. You, Wanda and Pietro finally reached her, and she seemed relieved to see you all right.
- What the hell happened here? - Pietro asked.
- The O'Driscolls came shooting in the middle of the negotiation! - Peggy explained, shouting so that you could hear her between shots. - They surrounded the factory from all sides, and someone shot Howard Stark!
- Where's Steve? - you asked, trying to find him in the crowd.
- He went to Bucky. - Peggy said with concern in her voice. She looked away from you to take aim with the rifle she was holding, and fired in the direction of the guards. At the distance you were standing, no one was shooting back.
- Right. - You nodded before sending Knight toward the gunshots. You heard Peggy yelling for you to come back, but you could only think of Steve.
You skirted the field, heading toward the factory, while drawing one of the revolvers. Knight was getting very agitated by the noise, so you tried to calm him down with words of affirmation.
As your proximity increased, the enemies began to notice you. You didn't want to risk using your rifle while mounted, so you took them on with your revolvers, while keeping Knight at high speed to avoid the shots. You succeeded in most of the shots, without really absorbing the images of the open wounds and the bullets going through the skin of those you shot. It was a war in the open, and when you felt a gunshot graze your ear, you began to really worry about Steve's safety. You ducked your head as you sent Knight toward the entrance of the factory, but then you felt your body being thrown forward, knocking you off your horse. You rolled on the ground for a few meters, and let out a grunt of pain when you finally stopped. Blinking in confusion, you looked around, getting up with difficulty. Nothing broken, you checked.
You lost your breath next, feeling a great impact on your stomach that you eventually realized was a punch. A man knocked you to the ground, the black uniform of a factory guard. You struggled against him, and he had an angry expression as he tried to choke you. You got out of your grip by kneeing him in the balls, and he fell over onto his side in pain. You hurried to get up, but when you reached for your pistol, you saw that your holster was empty. As you reached for your revolver in the secondary holster, someone grabbed you from behind, one arm choking you by the neck.
You tried to let go, unable to breathe properly as you raised your hand to try to pry the arm around your neck, but the guard holding you would not let go. The man you kicked started to get up.
Then you heard two shots, and the grip loosened. You fell to your knees, coughing with shortness of breath, before your breathing normalized. Both men fell to the ground with a thud, and you looked around in confusion. Wanda and Pietro stood side by side, each with their pistols raised in the direction you were standing.
- Are you all right there, dear? - teased Pietro.
You smiled at them, but before you could mutter a thank you, other shots rang out nearby, and you rushed to grab your fallen revolver a few inches away. You sought shelter to avoid the shots, and crouched side by side against a block of wood.
- They're heading for the train! - shouted a male voice, and then you watched as a large group of guards ran toward the checkpoint, which was a few meters in front of the factory, in the opposite direction from you. But the members of the O'Driscoll gang seemed to spring up from the ground, and resisted the guards with many shots.
You looked around, and finally spotted Steve. His blond hair showing through the factory window. You imagined that he had found a good place to avoid the gunfire inside.
- Steve is inside. - You told the twins. - Cover me.
And then you rolled to the side, ducking as you ran toward the factory door. The guards continued to shoot at the O'Driscolls, and didn't seem to make any difference who wasn't in the gang, shooting at anything that moved. Wanda and Pietro provided good cover, since you didn't get shot.
Entering the factory, you ran to where Steve was standing, frowning at the trail of blood on the floor. You completely lost your breath at the image you saw.
Steve was hiding against one of the machines, trying to shoot some guards that were on the opposite side of the room. Bucky was on his lap, unconscious, the blood pooling around him, his left arm pierced by something that looked like a piece of iron. You fell to your knees in front of them, raising your hands, which were trembling badly, to Bucky.
- Steve... What happened to him? - You asked, and only at this proximity you noticed the dry tears on his cheeks.
- He'll be fine, Y/N. - Steve replied, and then he finally hit the last guard of the factory, and the gunshot noises were only outside now. Steve stood up, trying to lift Bucky. - Come on, help me carry him.
You helped him, and Steve hung Bucky by his healthy arm on his shoulders. You noticed that he was not unconscious only when he let out a loud groan of pain.
- We have to get out of here. - Steve grumbled as you walked through the factory. - They shot the horses.
- Where are you going? - You exclaimed as you saw him walking in the opposite direction from where you had come, directly into the area where the conflict was most intense. You heard again the sound of an explosion, which shook the entire factory.
- The train, Y/N. - He explained. - It's our only way out of here. Take my gun, make way for us.
Steve handed you his own Litchfield, and you took a deep breath before opening the factory door. Looking around, you noticed a small group of guards trying to set up a barrier against the advancing O'Driscolls in the outpost area.
You were trying to decide how exactly you were going to shoot twenty other people without dying, when you heard a much larger explosion happen and you were thrown back into the factory with the impact.
- What the hell? - You grumbled, trying to stand up again, and then you felt someone lift you off the ground.
- They're setting the oil on fire. - Pietro explained, helping you up, Wanda by your side. - We have to get out of here fast.
- We have to get to the train. - You told them, moving towards the factory door again. Now you could see the flames growing around the place. The guards that had once been near the door had scattered all over the place, trying to get away from the fire.
- The way to go is to shoot everything that moves. - commented Pietro, joining you at the door. You nodded. - Is our bet still on? - He added in a playful tone, and you rolled your eyes, not answering.
And then you left the factory, you and Pietro in front, shooting anyone who looked like they wanted to kill you. Wanda covered the rear so that Steve could carry Bucky to the train, which was stopped at the post.
Despite all the shooting, you finally arrived at the station, and Steve rushed to load Bucky into one of the wagons, while you, Wanda and Pietro shot the few guards inside the transport.
The guards at the factory were too busy with the O'Driscolls burning everything around them to notice you boarding the train.
Thor came up to you next, completely covered in soot and blood, but still mounted on his white sorrel. He made it across the field to the post.
- Someone killed Stark. - He shouted. You looked at him with shock, but hurried to get on the train.
- Thor, did you see where Peggy was? - you asked.
- No! - He retorted, and then turned his horse's reins so that it was headed in the direction of where you last saw Peggy. - I haven't seen her since the first explosion, I'm going back to check on her!
And he rode away. You ran to the wagon in which Steve had placed Bucky lying on one of the benches.
- I think they killed the driver too. The train looks empty. - You told Steve. But he didn't seem to be listening at all, completely disturbed by Bucky's state. But then he blinked and turned to you, standing up.
- I'll get the train moving. Just... take care of him, okay?
You nodded in agreement, and he left the cab, running toward the front of the train.
When the engine started moving, the guards still tried to shoot at you, but you were already out of range. You figured that the only reason none of the guards were following you on horseback was because of the remaining O'Driscolls in the factory, who seemed determined to burn the whole place down.
You let out an exclamation of relief when you saw Thor and Nat's horses approaching. Both riding together with Peggy and Monica respectively.
Steve stepped out of the driver's cab into an open wagon, intending to talk to them.
- You need to get out of here! - Peggy shouted. - There were soldiers in Stark's caravan. They will hunt the heads of anyone who is in the area.
- Get back to camp! - Steve shouted at the same height so that he could be heard over the wind. - You've got to get everyone out of there!
- Where are we going, Steve?
- Stephen! Ask Stephen for a safe place.
Peggy nodded, and then Thor swung the reins of his horse, and they rode off toward the camp. Nat glanced at you before following them, and you tried not to worry so much, repeating to yourself that she would be fine.
You ran into the driver's cab, finding Steve trying to turn the train around.
- What are you going to do? - You asked, watching as he tried to push the mechanical steering wheel with difficulty, which you found strange. And then your gaze lowered a little and you noticed the deep cut on his waist. - My God, Steve, what is that?
He grumbled, but didn't move his hands away. You rushed to help him turn the wheel, before allowing him to lean on your shoulders, and you led him back to the same spot where Bucky had been.
Wanda and Pietro looked at you with worried expressions, but you only said that Steve had a cut on his stomach.
- I need to stop the bleeding, okay? - you said to Steve, who just shook his head in agreement. You took off your jacket, using it to press on the open wound.
Seeing him like that, and hearing the low moans of pain from Bucky in the next seat, brought a wracking feeling to your stomach. Your hands began to shake, and your eyes filled with tears, as you tried to normalize your breathing and not cry. Steve realizing your state, raised his hand to shake yours, a tender but tired smile on his face.
- It's okay, Y/N. - he whispered. - We'll both be fine.
You shook your head, feeling a tear run down your cheek. Steve looked very pale, and you couldn't stop staring.
Feeling a hand on your shoulder, you let out a sigh, startled a little. Wanda crouched down beside you.
- Let me do it. - She said in a low tone, noticing your nervousness. You shook your head in denial.
- It's okay, Wands. I... - Your voice came out completely broken. Wanda moved your hands
- Look for the supply wagon with Pietro. - She asked, the hand that had been on your shoulder caressing your face lightly, wiping away the tears that had run down your face. - I'll take care of it.
You shook your head, unable to say anything. Getting up in shock, you walked to the end of the train car, finding Pietro waiting for you at the door. He gave you a warm smile, and you tried to focus on that and not on the urge to turn around and go back to Steve.
You walked in silence the entire length of the train. As you looked around, your breathing calmed down, and you felt less terrified. When you finally reached the supply wagon, and started going through the lockers, Pietro joked that you really did rob a train after all, and you were able to laugh softly.
After a moment, Pietro let out a happy exclamation, and you turned to him curiously.
- Damn, finally! Here, look, these are medical supplies. - He said as he divided some items among you two.
You were leaving the cabin when you heard a strange noise. You frowned and exchanged a look with Pietro before drawing your revolver and walking toward the source of the noise: the large closet in the corner of the wagon.
Pietro shouted in fright when a man fell out. You stumbled backwards, torn between punching Pietro for being so outrageous, or shooting the stranger. You ended up waiting for the stranger to manifest himself.
- Maybe it's a ghost. - Pietro commented, and you rolled your eyes. The man seemed to be faking a faint.
- I will shoot you in the head if you don't say something in the next two seconds.
This seemed to stimulate the stranger enough, who stood up quickly, with his hands on his head. He must have been Steve's age, but he was very well dressed, and had a well-groomed beard. You gave him a sharp look.
- Damn, sorry, sorry. - He said. - I was hiding.
- Are you going to tell me who you are, or can I throw you off the train now?
The man turned pale, but hurried to answer.
- My name is Anthony Stark. - said the man, and you widened your eyes in surprise. - I wouldn't want to be thrown off my own train.
Pietro laughed at the joke, but you looked at him reprovingly, and he shut up.
- What were you doing hiding in the closet of your train, Mr. Stark? - you questioned him, and he felt comfortable enough to lower his hands.
- Well, you and your friends blew up an oil field on top of my carriage, and I was dragged to safety by my security guards. - He explained, putting his hands in his pockets.
- I didn't know Stark was bringing his son into the negotiation. - Commented Pietro, and you watched Tony's expression change at the mention of his father. You almost sympathized with him.
- We're not the ones who attacked you in the camps. - You said, but Tony looked at you suspiciously.
- But it is you who are stealing my train.
- We are running away on your train.
- And that's different from stealing, how exactly?
You smiled at the argument. Then you rolled your eyes, putting away your revolver.
- We don't have time for this. - You declared, turning toward the exit and starting to walk toward the next wagons. You heard Pietro and Tony accompany you. It took a moment for Tony to question what exactly you were going to do with what you were carrying, and Pietro explained that you had two wounded. Tony let out an exclamation.
- I can help with that. I am a doctor.
- Why would you help people who are robbing your train? - you asked suspiciously. Tony just shrugged his shoulders.
- I wouldn't like to be thrown onto the tracks. - He says simply.
Arriving at the destination wagon, you rush to put the items down before walking over to Steve, being glad that he was still awake. You look at Bucky, who is still groaning, but conscious.
- Who is this? - Wanda asks as soon as Tony enters the wagon.
- Tony Stark. - You answer, and ignore her surprised look to pull Tony toward Steve. - Here are your patients, Doctor Stark.
- Okay, this is really bad. - He comments as soon as he catches his eyes on Bucky. He keeps muttering to himself before looking at you with an expression of pity and seriousness. - I'm sorry, I'm going to have to amputate.
Steve turns his head to the side quickly, and you feel a wave of nausea in your stomach.
Seeing that everyone is in shock, Tony continues.
- I know it's not what anyone wants to hear, but I need to amputate his arm soon. He has already lost too much blood. - And then he stood up, looking for something. He grabbed an empty suitcase from one of the compartments, and carried it toward Bucky. - I need a knife.
Pietro asked him to wait, and ran toward the supply wagon, returning a short time later, a saw in his hands.
You blinked in horror at the weapon, but Pietro shrugged, saying:
- I've seen a doctor do this once before.
- Yes yes, that's better than a knife actually. - Tony commented and then he crouched down next to Bucky. - Hey buddy, this is going to hurt a lot. - He said as he moved Bucky's arm over the bag he had picked up. Bucky was already grunting loudly in pain from the movement. - I wouldn't stand by and watch if I were you.
- I'll keep an eye on him, if you like. - Pietro suggested, and you and Wanda nodded, stepping out of the car. You were feeling extremely disturbed by the whole situation.
You stared at the landscape at high speed, leaning against the railing of the open wagon, And then you felt your whole body tremble when Bucky's first screams could be heard. You bowed your head, closing your eyes. Wanda stood next to you, and reached your hand over the railing and intertwined your fingers together, trying to calm you. It didn't help much when the sounds continued, but it was better than being alone.
And then the screaming stopped. You let out a sigh. You gave Wanda's hand one last squeeze before letting go, turning toward the wagon door.
You didn't look at Bucky, the sight of Stark covered in blood made you too queasy. Tony wiped some of the blood from his face and arms with a towel before ducking toward Steve.
Steve grumbled at getting stitches, but it was all much cleaner than with Bucky. And then in a few minutes, Tony was finished.
- I think you guys should get some rest now. - he says, but Steve lets out a hoarse laugh.
- Our stop is approaching. - Steve says with irony. He gets up with difficulty, refusing Pietro's help, and you roll your eyes at how proud he can be. He walks out of the wagon, looking around, and then heads toward the driver's cab. You follow him, frowning in concern.
- Steve, what are you doing? - you ask.
- Come, here. Help me stop the train. - He asks, ignoring your question. You look around, and are confused to realize that you are in the middle of nowhere, this track route you didn't know. But you approach and help him to stop the locomotive.
As the train comes to a stop, you watch the scenery intently.
- Are we still in New Hanover? - you ask and Steve laughs lightly.
- Of course we are. - He says. - We're not that far from Emerald Ranch. If you walk a little further you will notice that we have reached the edge of the tracks.
- Oh, we're close to the Roanoke Ridge area. - You say, finally locating yourself. Steve nods in agreement.
You walk back to the wagon where everyone was, and you realize that with the train at a stop, it is much easier to keep your balance.
Steve approaches Bucky, stroking his hair, but the man is asleep. He crouches down to carry him, but Pietro says that he and Stark can handle it. Steve tries to argue, but eventually gives in.
- Do you have any idea where we are going to camp? - Wanda asks Steve and he laughs, ruffling her hair.
- I wouldn't bring you to the middle of nowhere without tents or food, kids. - He jokes, but seeing the disbelieving looks on their faces, he pretends to be offended. - I am hurt by the lack of trust this gang has in me.
You roll your eyes with irony, and Wanda smiles at you.
When you get off the train, Steve leads the way, and it takes a few minutes before he speaks again.
- Bucky and I used to hunt bears in this region. - He said. - Before the gang, of course. When we were in the army.
Everyone was silent as they listened to Steve telling the story, maybe it was tiredness. You guessed that the only reason Pietro didn't interrupt with a joke was because he was busy trying to carry Bucky.
- There was an abandoned cottage around here. - he says. - In the war, anywhere would do for shelter, but finding a place like that was big luck. - Steve looks around for a moment, probably trying to remember the right direction. - It was simple, but extremely cozy. But after we formed the gang, and you kids came, there was nothing left to keep us down south. So we traveled to New Austin and this place was forgotten for good.
- You guys like to tell stories, don't you? - remarked Tony in a tone of debauchery, you startled slightly, having forgotten that he was present. Steve looked at him with disapproval, but didn't say anything.
You walked a little longer, silent except for the sound of Steve's whistling, and then he stopped walking.
- Finally! - complained Tony.
Steve pulled back a long pine leaf that blocked the view from the front, and then you could see the little brown cottage a few meters away from where you were standing.
It was covered with leaves, almost completely hidden among the forest. You wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't been looking directly at it. It was a simple construction, and small, with at most two or three rooms. You smiled as you noticed the lake surrounding the garden.
You walked toward the place, and Steve forced open the door, checking to see if the place really was empty. He entered the cottage, and returned a moment later smiling, and signaling for you to come in.
You were surprised to notice that there was furniture, all covered with white sheets. Steve really used to use this place. You noticed that it was larger than it looked from the outside. The room was well lit, and there was even a window in the ceiling. There were two bedrooms, which extended to the back, which is why you could not see them from the outside. The bathroom was shared between them.
- This place is amazing, Steve. - Pietro remarked as he put Bucky down on the bed in one of the bedrooms. - But I have to ask, nobody died here, right? I hate ghosts.
Steve laughed, denying it with his head.
- This will do for a few days. - He said as he looked around the cabin. - At least until Bucky is well enough to travel.
- How are we going to find the gang? - Wanda asked.
- Peggy knows about this place. - He replied. - When they find a new place, I'm sure she'll write to us.
- Do the letters even get here? - you asked ironically, making Steve laugh.
- Well, you're very funny today. Of course there is mail here.
You laugh and exchange a mischievous look with Wanda and Pietro.
- Now if you don't mind, why don't you try hunting our dinner? - Steve suggests, and you understand that he actually wants the three of you to leave, and you know exactly why. - I'll have a word with Mr. Stark.
- Doctor. - Tony corrects, but Steve ignores him.
You, Wanda and Pietro obey, walking out of the cabin. Now that you are safe, you let out a sigh of relief.
- Do you think he will stay with us? - asked Pietro as soon as you were outside.
You shrugged.
- I think Steve is going to ask him to stay. - Said Wanda, and you and Pietro looked at her curiously. - Stark saved Bucky's life.
- Stark thought it was us who set fire to the oil fields. - You said. - He must think that we are also the ones who killed his father.
- Damn, this is bad. - added Pietro. - If he thinks we killed his father, he will surely denounce us. And he's already seen our faces very clearly.
- We'll have to trust Steve. - You said, shrugging your shoulders. - We have to believe that he will be able to convince Tony of the truth.
Wanda and Pietro nodded in agreement, and you spent a moment in silence, before you told them that you should look for dinner.
- Let's have some fun then. - says Pietro as he reloads his own gun. - Whoever finds food first, or whoever brings the best hunt, wins.
- Sorry but what prize do you have to offer? - You mock.
- You know, greed is such a sad thing. - Pietro returns in the same tone, making you and Wanda laugh. - Besides the incalculable fun I'm offering, the winner gets to choose the prize.
- You're out of ideas, aren't you? - Wanda sneers, and Pietro shrugs, laughing in agreement.
- Do you accept the conditions? - He asks, pretending to be serious. You roll your eyes humorously, but agree, being accompanied by Wanda. Pietro jumps up and down with excitement. - Let the hunt begin!
He shouts and rushes forward. You and Wanda laugh before running off in opposite directions.
